nvager 498
2nd Place cannot be taken for granted. As long as teams see that if they pack the midfield and try and score on a fast break, then we WILL struggle. We have weaknesses in defence in Papac and Murray; our midfield is slow and has little quality if BF has an off day like today. There is nothing in the way of a threat up the left side and our right side is not much better.Everything is too slow and too obvious. No killer pass and horrendous crossing of balls.Prso looked past it today and there is NO-ONE else to support Boyd. (Sebo cant cut it IMO)A big fight to the end with Aberdeen IMO.Where was Thomson today? 2m quid's worth?

We were fantastic for 14 minutes today then they got a man sent off. The 10 men took on an emergency 4-3-2 formation and we lost the plot. We must be able to react to tactical changes in the opposition. It looks like Plan A = Whatever, Plan B = wtf...
Briton 394
2nd Place cannot be taken for granted. We have weaknesses in defence in Papac and Murray; our midfield is slow and has little quality if BF has an off day like today. Our midfield is slow even when Ferguson has a good day. He is the only one with any quality though and we badly need to bolster that area more than any other.
Wienblue 26
Fully agree nvager.Barry cannot depended upon to do everything for everybody - Scotland last week, this week Gers. I though this would happen !!Bottom line is we lack quality. Enough said.
Ibroxblue 118
Papac has played pretty well. Possibly better than Ehiogu. Hopefully Webster will be better than either (and fit). Hopefully Smith will be back soon too.It might seem unthinkable to some (including possibly the man himself) but we should have taken Barry off yesterday and put on Thomson. I reckon the Scotland games done him in.
Rangers & Arsenal 1
Why don't we play Papac and Ehigou in central defence instead of sh1tey Papac! and Thomson is utter garbage :angry2:

Muff 245
criticising Papac who has done very well in the last 2 games1 game being an Aberdeen team who's under-12's could of offered more and the other being a p*shy ICT team. Papac is not the answer. Put him under pressure or up against a good team and he'll crumble.

Hopefully Webster may be fit and ok soon - but RUSTY???WElcome back Smith too - but also RUSTY?

(Sebo cant cut it IMO)A big fight to the end with Aberdeen IMO.Where was Thomson today? 2m quid's worth?Agree up to a point. A lot of the passing yesterday was atrocious, and the attitude was pretty diabolical once Caley went down to 10 men. Still, we honestly should have won that game by 4 or 5 goals. How many did Boyd miss? I lost count, but it must have been at the very least 4. Fergie too fluffed a golden opportunity. They should never have taken the foot off the gas when they were 1 goal up and Caley were down a man. What started out brightly ended up being a classic case of a missed opportunity due to laziness and overconfidence (an overconfidence which is hardly merited, given some of the shocking passes we were guilty of playing. docspiderman 892
It was down to attitude-- we have seen it so many times in the last few months. How many points have we dropped to teams in the bottom six?We go ahead or play a bottom team, slow the game down to a level even the poorest team can cope with, stroll around, try to walk the ball into the net. When it doesn't work we play the ball over the top for Dado of all people to chase or that willing workhorse Boyd. Then it is the obvious ball wide and the cross which may or may not get into the box for our striker surrounded by 3 defenders to try to win. Senseless and pointless but it has happened like this so often. We do not have players with the skill to play other than a high tempo pressing game and no player with the ability to win the ball in the air that we end up resorting to.Attitude and arrogance has cost us dear this season and maybe the number of scottish players in the team is a factor-- guys who think they have made it and think they don't have to work at their game or work on the park.It is not so many years ago that the scottish players admitted that the foreigners who came into our team impressed with their professionalism and work ethic and improved the home born players. Perhaps we are moving down the wrong road with our signing policy and should be targetting quality rather than nationality.
nvager 498
Surely QUALITY first always.A mix is good, but without quality you will win nothing.
MikeBlue 136
No-one's mentioned the fact that after an hour Adam was knackered - obviously unfit and doesn't have the excuse of playing in the internationals.
Frankie 505
No-one's mentioned the fact that after an hour Adam was knackered - obviously unfit and doesn't have the excuse of playing in the internationals.Adam alwasy goes missing for the last 20mins of each half.Quite simply, despite some good goals and allowances for his inexperience, his inconsistency and lack of real quality overall means he's not good enough to be considered a first pick. I would hold onto him to see if he can develop over the next few years but we can ill afford to play him every week.

BlueSuedeSambas 42,618
Now lets not make a mountain out of a mole hill here guys.Yes we were poor on Saturday and second place is not won yet, but we are still very much in the driving seat and it's ours to lose. we have a tough run of games, that is without question, but Aberdeen have an equally tough set of fixtures, can they really win the 6 more more points they need to clearly over take us and finish second, or perhaps more importantly are we likely to drop that many points? Saturday aside, we have been pretty good under Walter. Let's not start showinh our nervousness as it will rub off on the team.
