La Viola are keen on replacing Adrian Mutu with the Scottish league's top goal-scorer.

Fiorentina have met Rangers' terms and are close to securing Kenny Miller 's signature, according to Sport Italia.

The Serie A side are on the lookout for a new striker now that Adrian Mutu fell out with the club, and see Miller as the man to keep the engine purring.

With Miller's contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign, Rangers have little choice but to cash in on their prolific front-man.

The 31-year-old Scottish international has been on fire this term, scoring 21 league goals for the Glasgow outfit so far.

if this a true kenny should defo take this...florence or birmingham? Top Half serie A Club or Bottom Half EPL club? He needs a new challenge and Fiorentina would be perfect for him...plus he can carry on his habbit of pumping the ball past boruc in training.

Goal are saying that the fee would be £1.07 Million

Fiorentina are set to land Rangers striker Kenny Miller as a replacement for Adrian Mutu, according to reports from Italy.

Sport Italia reports that the Serie A side have pinpointed the prolific hit-man, who has netted an impressive 21 goals in 17 league starts for the Glasgow club this season, as a replacement for the rebellious Romanian, who has been suspended to due an alleged breach of contract.

La Viola feel that the Scottish international is of sufficient quality to score the goals to lift the side out of the bottom half of the table.

The former Celtic, Wolves and Derby County attacker was thought to be close to completing a deal to return to England with Birmingham City, but the move appears to have fallen through, allowing Fiorentina to hijack the negotiations.

The 31-year-old is out of contract at Ibrox in the summer, and the SPL club’s financial constraints mean that they must seek a transfer fee in the current window rather than let him leave for free.

Ligue 1 side Marseille have also been linked with a move, with a fee in the region of €1.3 million [£1.07m] enough to enter into discussions.

Alex McLeish also confirms Kenny Miller is wanted in Italy, with Fiorentina bidding to sign the Rangers striker. "We have an agreement with Rangers and are talking to Kenny. He's torn about coming back to the Premier League or going to Italy so we'll probably ask Kenny for a quick decision."

So who gets the number 9 ?
