Rangers versus Motherwell at Ibrox stadium, Glasgow, on Saturday February 12, 2011. Kick-off 3:00 PM.

Rangers are second in the SPL with 53 points from 22 games and have a goal difference of +27 goals.

Celtic are in first place with 58 points from 24 games and have a goal difference of +39 goals.

Motherwell our opponents have 28 points from 23 games.

Rangers simply must win this game to stay in contention for the SPL title. There should be no excuses. We are at home against a fairly poor side. M'well did of course give us a decent game at Hampden a short time ago in the semi-final of the Scottish Cooperative Insurance Cup and that will give them some confidence, but we really should win this game fairly comfortably if we play anything like our best football.

Surely we can play an up tempo pressing/attacking style of play and for 90 minutes. We did it against Kilmarnock so we know it can be done. Less negativity and play with two strikers. Walter must have learned something from our recent displays. Let's hope so.

Is it possible we can give Bartley a chance and see what he adds to the team? He could play in a number of positions - RB, CH, defensive midfield.

We need to play with two strikers but Lafferty is not fit so let's play either Naismith or Healy alongside Jelavic.

Diouf has done fairly well so lets have him in midfield alongside Davis and Ness and maybe Bartley as the defensive midfielder? If not then use Edu or Hutton there or alternatively just play Wylde out wide left or Diouf with Weiss on the right. Plenty of choices.

The team needs some change in personnel and/or formation to gee it up. The recent displays have been lethargic to say the least.

We seem to play too deep and too defensively of late. We are not pressing teams up the field. Teams are passing us off the park - even with less men.

This must change and I believe it will on Saturday.

My team would be McGregor, Whittaker, Bougherra, Weir/Bartley, Papac, Diouf, Davis, Ness, Wylde/Weiss, Healy/Naismith and Jelavic.

Prediction: Rangers 3 - 0 M'well

McGregor

Whittaker Bougherra Bartley Papac

Weiss Davis Ness Diouf

Naismith Jelavic

Subs: Bartley, Alexander, Foster, Edu, Fleck, Wylde, Healy

Bartley needs to be in. Weir has been great but he is holding Rangers players back. Im sure Bartley can hold it against Motherwell. Fuck these sitting midfielders. Rangers need to start attacking as a team! not covering weir and his lack of pace.

Aye, Craigen is utter pish. Always thought so.

My team ;

McGregor

Whittaker Bougherra Bartley Wylde

Weiss Davis Ness Diouf

Naismith

Jelavic

....

Couple of wildcards there, but let's give them a chance.

I'd like to see Fleck start there instead of Naismith, but good shout regarding Wylde. Would be interesting to see what he can do in the more defensive position.

That young guy Cole looked ok.

In Turkey I thought he looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights, but at the end of the day he deserves a chance as that wasn't a good game to throw the lad into.

But yeah, against Motherwell he couldn't do worse than say Foster. Fair enough shout.

Its gonna go down like this! 4-5-1

Walter- Right Jamie and Steven you sit back and give big Davie cover. Just give motherwell the ball and let them try and break us down.

And Davie, when you get the ball! just pump it up the field. Jela you can chase everything down and if you get the ball? hold it up and wait for your team to come up from the 18 yard box. BUT MAKE SURE YOU COVER BIG DAVEY. :craphead:

Can cut this one up top pish out for a start. Even with someone in the hole, it's still a negative, turgid, shower of crap.

We are never going to play the way we all want it to be, so we should be going 4-4-2. Jelavic needs a partner - everyone can see that, about time the manager did.

100% focus on this game, no-one better have their minds on Sporting CP - the manager especially!
