REUTERS:

FIFA have held an emergency meeting and have just announced that the 2014 World Cup, which was scheduled to have taken place during the months of June and July in Brazil, will now not do so and it will be held during September and October in Argentina, not Brazil.

They gave as their reasons for this shift "sporting integrity" and the FIFA spokesman said, "We are sorry for all the problems this may cause both supporters and participating countries.....but we've decided and that's that."

Hoteliers in Brazil are outraged. Supporters, many of whom have paid for flight tickets and hotels in advance are now left high and dry with no chance of a refund.

.....................

I'm not planning on being there - but I guess there are many who will be disappointed at such news.

I mean - imagine it. You arrange holidays and work schedules around something like this only for the authorities to pull the rug from under you - albeit not at the last minute.

Is this right? How can they do this?

Ooops! Did I write 'world cup'? :D

Silly me - here's what I meant to write:

REUTERS:

The SPL have held an emergency meeting and have just announced that the 2010-11 SPL title race, which was scheduled to have taken place during weekends and midweek evenings throughout the season, will now not do so and some games will be held on Friday afternoons.

They gave as their reasons for this shift "sporting integrity" and an SPL spokesman said, "We are sorry for all the problems this may cause both supporters and participating clubs (mostly Rangers) but we've decided - and that's that. Fuck the workers we say!"

Supporters are outraged many of who paid for flight tickets and hotels in advance and are now left high and dry with no chance of a refund.

:sherlock:

It got your collective attention. Job done.

It is an outrage that they're even considering this Friday afternoon bullshit.
