Bartley is ready to fight for his place...in midfield?

Bartley1-1.jpgWith Jig McCulloch facing a lengthy spell on the treatment table and Jamie Ness possibly needing a rest given the little amount of football he's had in his career thus far, Kyle Bartley has emerged as an unlikely potential replacement who could provide a bit of steel in the middle of the park, something that was sadly lacking against Celtic last weekend.

Bartley told the press today, which you can see on the STV website, "In recent years I've always played centre-half but in my earlier days I was a midfielder growing up. I think if I was asked to play there then I would give it my best shot and hopefully do well."

Ffs , another case of shoehorning a player into the team in an unnatural position .

We have central midfielders to play there , or is this just smith trying to force another defensive minded player into the starting eleven ?
