RANGERST1LLADIE 33
Was hoping to see bartley at some point but not in place of Ness. They guy is a defender and because he played midfield in his youth Walter is dropping arguably our best player at the moment to fit him in. Imo weir should a been dropped out and bartley in.Thoughts? Bonkgers 3
Fucking joke, Ness has clearly been our best midfielder in recent weeks...Walter's most likely gutted his playing well in his PROPER position so it would look stupid to move him out to the left wing so he drops the poor lad instead! GaryMc 2,409
Fucking hell Ness isn't even in the match day squad.Scores a wonder goal in the OF, been our best midfielder by a mile in the last few games then gets dropped straight out the squad.Fucking joke. Muz333 376
I'm sure Ness is just getting a rest before our next match, while bartley is getting a run to see how he plays as he'll likely be included in a back five next Thursday, I wouldn't worry too much about it. scottyboyblue 61
As soon as i read walters pre match conference, i had a feeling this could happen, i think he's resting young ness, walter talks about him needing a rest, because of all the injury problems the guy's had, and i suppose this is as good a game as any to do it. If he's going to play Bartley on thursday, then he heeds to bed him in, so as much as i would like to play ness in every game because he is our best player just now, let's just put our trust in walter
Reid 19
i dont go for this "needs a rest" pish.most of the RangersMedia football team lads work 5/6 days a week, play 5s/7s/train most nights every week, play a saturday afternoon and then get stuck in again on a sunday.. why? because we want to. Not because we're playing the club we love and grew up supporting (nor because we're getting paid silly money to do so) and you'll never hear of any of us needing 'rested' unless actually carrying an injury.Walters made a bit of a baws up here IMO, the lads been playing well and like any players whos been doing that will be high on confidence, this will be nothing but a knock for him. I just hope he doesnt come back and cant get involved again (infact i just hope he's back!)
ForeverBlue_Since91 2,895
I was hoping he would drop weir and put bartley in there, and put kyle hutton in for ness.
BeautifulSeas 10
Well, you have to say Walter got it right. Maybe. I think that Bartley has been great and has a real touch on him. I'm wondering how Ness would fit alongside him actually. Either way, I hope we have seen the last of McCullouch and Edu playing the holding role (probably a sweeping statement after 45 minutes of football but you can see this guy can play)My only real concern at the moment is Weiss, Diouf and Bartley are all loan signings, something we have mocked the "green and grey" for in the past. Performing any activity at elite level tends to expose any weakness or deficiency much more readily compared to lesser competition. If Ness was playing in the rangers media team he'd be able to get stuck in just the same without any tiredness coming to the fore. Check that against the champions league or the uefa cup. papaguy51 941
Need them both in there just now.Bartley looks very good on the ball as you'd expect from a Wenger product, but Ness is still the better footballer and we need that mix.If we could field a 4-3-3 with Davis, Ness and Bartley in the middle then I see that as an exciting prospect.
