So many positives from yesterday to build on

First of all we played pretty well which makes a change but some players put in some terrific performances. Kyle Bartley and Vladimir Weiss especially.

I was very impressed with Kyle Bartley in midfield. Nothing flash or fancy about him but he kept things simple and was not afriad to get stuck in which is something we have been missing. It was also refreshing to see a player close the opposition down and let them know they are about. He seems to be really appreciative of the fact he is at a club like Rangers.

In the first half Diouf was running the show. Picking the ball up, making things happen and drifting all over the place. Should have scored early on but put in another good performance and it was nice to see him showing how much he loves it here when he went to take a corner in the first half. So far so good.

Vladimir Weiss was excellent from start to finish. On his day the wee man is a class act and he was on top form yesterday. Two great balls into the box for Naismith and Jelavic to score and ran the Motherwell defence ragged all day.

Up front Jelavic showed what a class act he is. I was watching him for the whole of the warm up and while eeryone else was kicking the ball and doing their stretches he was on his own practicing his turns, control, skill and shooting. He also got Kenny McDowall to come over and drill the ball into his chest for him to work on his control. Quality! But I was pleasantly surprised with David Healy when he came on. His goal aside he held the ball up well, brought others into play, made some great runs and put in some lovely balls into the box. His goal was the icing on the cake and his dad is over the moon.

But one thing that has been overlooked is Allan McGregor's saves in the second half. I was right behind both of them and I thought they were both going in but once again McGregor defies belief with more top class saves to add to his growing collection.

Overall a great, albeit expensive, day (tu)
