Veterans In Action

There were guys collecting for "Veteran's In Action" in the pubs on PRW before the match and down towards Helen Street after. They were giving out wristbands with veteransinaction.org.uk on them for donations. The website doesn't exist and I can find no link to them anywhere on the Net. Anyone know anything about them? If this is a scam please give this maximum publicity.

Hi mate, I was told about this post and thought I would come on to explain who we were to alieviate you thinking we are a bogus charity. I started the charity in 2009 under the name Veterans International Aid Charity No 1128026 to help veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). After an etremely busy year we had got many comments about our name so recently we decided to change the name of the charity to Veterans In Action. This was done through Companies House and the Charity Commission in early March this year.

Unfortunately our new website has taken longer than we had hoped so the website address on the wristband you were given takes you to our old website. On the plus side our website will be up and running very shortly so you can keep up with what we are doing and the guys we help.

I would just like to say how generous the Rangers fans have been which is fantastic for me as a Rangers fan myself. We also do a lot of games at Chelsea where we see many Rangers fans there too and have a wee sing song with them in the So Bar across from Stanford Bridge.

Sorry for any confusion and I hope this will put your mind at ease, unfortunately there are many bogus collectors around which makes it harder for those that are genuine and you are right to question it.

I'm glad I was told about this so that I could reply, Aw ra best Billy MacLeod

Thanks to all of you and hope to see you some time when we are back at Ibrox. I am just about to set off on a 1400 mile walk from Dover to Cape Wrath and then across to John o'Groats. This is one of the things we do as a charity to help those with PTSD or who find it hard to adjust to civilian life.

We have 15 veterans who suffer taking part on the walk plus our support team. If you check into our website from time to time you can keep up with our progress. It would be great to get a turnstile collection at Ibrox some time so if anyone knows who I could contact about this it would be fantastic.

We will reach Glasgow on the walk around the 22nd of May.

Well done mate keep up the excellent work, it's good to see some genuine decency out there in the selfish, greedy world of today.
