Sporting Lisbon are there for the taking

We have a great chance to beat these guys on Thursday, they have been very poor this season domestically and their defence is awful. One of their players, Helder Postiga has said that there defence has been so bad that we could run riot and to add to their troubles one of their best players may be left out due to a bust up with the manager.

Also with liedson recently leaving they have lost their best player

Certainly a good chance to get a decent result at ibrox

Plenty of our European opponents of the last few years have been there for the taking but it hasn't stopped Walter Smith playing the most negative football imaginable in the hope of a 0-0, or a 1-0 if we're really lucky

I would quite happily accept us losing a European tie 4-3 or 5-4 on aggregate in the knowledge that we'd actually had a go

i would say so if we get an early goal then they might just fall to bits, it could easily go the other way and they try for there lifes to try and get something from there season, there like wounded animals in a sense, unpredictable and and could cause a surprise, cause i would be surprised if they beat us

You must be an Arsenal fan or a former Newcastle fan with an old Kevin Keegan poster on yer wall.

Yes they are there for the taking but I can't see any Europeon game being easy for us.

This may be Sporting only chance of any success all season so we need to be weary.

If we can play like we did on Saturday minus Jela we could have this wrapped up before going over there .Then hopefully we can let some of the younger boys gain some Euro experience.

Far from it. Just sick of watching sides like Osasuna, Kaunas, Panathinaikos, Bursaspor come to Ibrox and us showing them far too much respect

I long for the days when we'd attack teams from the start in Europe. If Sturm Graz came to Ibrox now, we'd play 4-5-1 and think 0-0 was a reasonable result

I think there's room for a bit of both.

Really looking forward to watching the match on Thursday. Think we have a decent shot at going through. We've beaten them before and IMO since the last time we've played them we've improved our squad (adding the likes of Weiss and Diouf).

If we go out and attack especially at Ibrox then I feel a good 2-0 win is not out of the question.

Heard somewhere on here we are drawn against the winner of PSV and Lille if we go through?

If so, feel if we play to our capabilities then we have a decent enough shot of getting to the quarters, and from there, you never know.

anyway, getting tanked on Thursday for the first time since New Years, so hopefully its in celebration of a good win.

Yet some people want us to play weans and crash out of a European competition because they are only interested in one trophy.

As in guys like Cole, Fleck, Hutton, Ness - would hardly call them weans!

Players who have featured in the Champions League, and against the bheggars?

We've hardly got a squad to rest all our best players. The ones who can come in, will do just as good a job, IMO.
