Europe, a step to far Walter or an over rection

Although we didn't get beat tonight, I am with the majority that a draw was a poor result and the performance wasn't great, but not as bad as others we have been served up. Is it the simple truth that Europe, despite 2008 is a step to far for Smith, and his limitations are sorely exposed. Whereas here in the SPL everyone except celtic is far and away from a level playing field in any shape or form, whatever the answer is we are where we are, nothing will change until seasons end.

The $64,000 question is, what will seasons end bring with more of the same, as has been on show lately. Will possible failure tarnish Walter's legacy and reputation, how much damage could it do in general to our footballing aspirations.

It isn't just Europe that's the issue, we see the same tactics deployed domestically too. It cost us the cup tie against Celtic.

Basically the point I am driving at, is Walter's domestic success more down to our superior players and our undoubted financial clout and facilities, more than it is to him. Whereas Europe is an open book, with the managers under greater scrutiny, as to their abilities or lack of abilities.

im going to put my tin hat on here

but the smith legacy regarding 9iar was a basic case of him being there at the right time

with the financial clout available, ANY manager that could pick 11 men and spot when they were tired and sub them could have won 9iar

its funny to think that smith nearly blew it also, mind when he first took charge, rangers were rampant in the league, then made a complete cunt of it culminating in a 3-0 doing away to motherwell the second last game of the season

the next 6 seasons he had no challengers, first season he did he lost 10iar

make no mistake he won the titles, forever in rangers history he will be the manager that won 9iar, but there wasnt much competition, and europe proved it when his record in europe in charge of rangers is 20 wins from fuck knows how many games :(
