Deficiencies in training.

First off, Walter is and has been legendary for us, there can be no doubt.

However, when he goes, I'm looking forward to a general increase in our technical ability and mentality, for all Walter's strengths, these are lacking.

Last night's goal was the first header from a corner I can remember us scoring since maybe Jig's at the dump last season? Our set-pieces have been woeful and I think that has something to do with the training setup.

Getting players like Weiss and Diouf in have helped, but we rarely have anyone making a real run and attacking the ball.

The direct result of Smith's well-reported rough and ready training methods are injuries aplenty, minimal technical ability and set piece mayhem.

Next season, those are the three areas that will show if McCoist has any nous, or even a set of eyes and can think for himself.

It's up to you Super Ally.

Ally wont be doing anything different. Hes had 4 years to suggest we maybe change one or 2 things, hes had 4 years to bring ideas to the table, nothing has changed. Hes as clueless as those around him. Im dreading him taking over.

Shouldn't you change your name if you think walter is clueless?

Not necessarily, he might have ideas, but it'd be in character for WS to stick to his plans and not bother so much with Coisty's ideas.

So Walter has no interest in change for the better and no interest in what Ally has to say?

I doubt that LF.

He has next to no interest in change, especially on a big stage. I mean he could have changed it last night by bringing on someone and keeping the shape, but even that he bottled.

Agree 100%.

If McCoist is to take charge he should be judged as being his own man rather than Smiths assistant.

The two, are completely different jobs.

Yip.

Ally could have the best idea in the world, but if WS doesn't fancy it, we'll never see it until he's in charge.

i look forward to coisty taking over IF we have money to build a new squad. he can't work with what we have at the moment, playing players out of position and keeping the lieks of McCulloch in the squad when he's playing pish.

Diouff and Weiss are 2 of our best and they're only here on loan. If coisty can't spend a decent amount in the summer and we're left with what we have minus the possible sales of bougherra, Mcgregor and possibly even jelavic, we're fucked.

I agree 100%. Change was needed last night, 1-0 up, last 20 mins, our coaches and manager didnt have a clue what to do.

Scared to change things, scared to go for the 2nd goal.

Its crap LF

Agree with both of you.

He may surprise everyone that thinks he's a Walter clone.

I think you're right, but only time will tell.

It would be far easier for him if he went into next season as manager of the champions though, and keeping the dosh away from the tinkers.

Definitely,if we don't win the league and he loses or draws his first SPL match there will be calls for his head right away IMO.
