Play in the opposition half and we have a chance because it has been more than obvious our 5 man midfield has been dominated home or away by the opposition whether they are playing 3 or 4 in midfield.The 5 man midfield fails to stifle opponents,fails to protect the back 4,fails to support the lone striker. Adoniram 1,919 Posted February 22, 2011 Share Posted February 22, 2011 True, but without Mcculloch, ness, Naismith, hutton he is almost guaranteed to start I'm afraidWhy though?What does he bring to the team that is so important he has to start?Why not put Fleck in with Davis and Weiss and Bartley in the middle if Smith is so determined to play a centre half in midfield.Edu was deplorable on Sunday. His 2nd touch was a tackle and the amount of times he was disposessed was criminal. Couldn't pass the ball 10 yards to a team mate and does not deserve a starting place on Thursday but will get one.
