WV12AllyMcCoist.jpgIn an interview with the Sunday Mail today, Ally McCoist confirmed that he will be facing cuts in the wage bill from what it is presently and he also fears that he will lose some of his current playing staff. McCoist confirmed that he has already been made aware of his budget for next year, presumingly his transfer and wage budget and he seems content that he can still bring in players to accentuate a dwindling squad.

"In an ideal world the club will be bought over and investment will come in. At the moment we can't say with any certainty if that will be the case. We need to plan for next season. I know the budget and don't see that changing dramatically unless someone buys the club. It's up to ourselves to identify players and bring them in."

A quote from the article....

There have been suggestions that this may be as much as £1million, however that works out at losing one player who is on around £2k per week which wouldn't be a disaster.

Who wrote it? Because their maths is fucking awful if they think 2 grand a week equates to 1 million a season :anguish:

1 million quid is a pretty big chunk to take out of the wage bill of what will be an already pretty thin squad.

Unfortunately this is they way we are now, imo if players need to go Rangers should be looking at some of the dead wood that has been at Ibrox for a number of years and contributed nothing, lads like Andrew Shinnie, Little, and one or two others should be sold on and allow other youngsters to come through.

Fucking disgusting, yet they still expect 40 odd thousand Bears to pay top dollar for season books! :disappointment:

Fans are simply buying into blind faith, not ambition and for Rangers FC, that is disgusting. Whats the fucking point? Demoralising stuff.

Ansolutely sick, Celtic will continue to manage a wage bill in excess of £30m, and we are downsizing further to LESS THAN HALF of theirs.

Are we now Scotlands second biggest club? Murray, you are a parasite, take you catalogue model with you and get to fuck!

Embarrassing stuff.

:anguish:

The worrying thing is they are picking up quality players on the cheap and on free's or pre's while we are not getting anything.

Celtics ability to pay decent to high wages is the reason (alot of the time anyway) that they can get gd freebies, eg commons. Their ability to pay higher wages and a gd sign on fee makes them an easy option for players such as commons who (as far as I'm aware) dont have any blue or green allegiances

They are, but when have we ever been pro active with regards to transfer activity? We are a shambles and are being run by clueless idiots. Our financial position proves this time and time again.

Such a huge club, so many fans, so many income streams, so much money coming in year on year, so much here now to make us stronger, yet we consistanly downsize and make the same mistakes, year on year.

Our fans deserve better, our name deserves better, those who made us who we are deserve better.

McGregor will be off aswell as Bougherra.

I told them they should have bought Mitch Langerak, but naw! now he's playing a blinder for Borussia Dortmund against the might of Bayern Munchen. doh

I see that young Matthew Leckie is off to Borussia Mönchengladbach next season also, and I really think that if our wage bill is going to be slashed even more, we are going to have to be looking for younger players with potential to be groomed into the new system and do the job Ally wants them to do.

Think is what said last week that the first thing he has to do is lose a million from the wage bill for this season.

Weiss wont be with us next season so the wages, whatever we are contributing wont be there

Beattie - He will be either sold for a pittance after his stint at blackpool or le go completly so his wages wont be there

Diouff - Wont be here next season again similar scenario to Weiss

Foster - ont be bought by us and no wages to him

Weir wont be here and whatever he gets each week will be away

Healy - same as Weiss & Diouff

All this will be over a million but its 6 players away from our squad!!

And the worrying thing is will we accept a big bid for shagger, boogie or davis too!!

There is a reason for that though and fans wont like the truth, they dont want to hear the truth.

There should be no excuse for them being able to offer more money to players than us! Sadly there is a reason though, but that reason is inexcusable, its sickening.

Around £90k a week there, huge sums of money. And arguably losing them wouldnt harm us much if our team was in the right hands.

Healy will hopefully still be here, his wages, by his own admission, wont be an issue.

He'll be the new Arsene Wenger, apart from he'll win loads, and not be a stubborn arsehole.

Don't mark my words mate ;)

Oz writes feverishly in his wee black book, verifying Ben's prophecies for future reference! :sherlock:
