Does today effect Weir's automatic selection from now on?

I wasn't there today, so first I'd like to ask how Bartley and Bougherra played together.

And secondly, as the thread title says - assuming they played pretty well, does it effect Weir's automatic selection for the rest of the season?

Bartley had a crackin game if it was to be compared to weirs past two games ... Gers back line high for the first time in a long time...played alot better ... I personally believe weir should bow out before things get ugly ... But weir will return on Wednesday in time for us to play our ever so successful an attractive 4-5-1... Sorry for the negativity but we don't need a 40 year playing for us ... I am still spitting from last Sunday about how badly he was ripped apart ...

If Weir plays on Wednesday we will most likely get our arses felt. I reckon weir will play and we will need to put bartley in front of him to protect him thus playing deeper and wasting a player. You can slag bartley passing today but weirs distribution has been horrendous of recent.

Weir's long past it, he's been a great servant for us and he should've packed it in last season. Even took on a defensive coaching role for us but how the fuck he's an automatic starter for us beggars belief. His legs have completely gone and if he starts against they fuckers then we're going to have to play a 5-4-1 and i don't like that because that's showing they bastards too much respect. A 4-4-2's the best way to go with pace on the wings (Weiss and Wylde for me if Vlad's fit).

Hooper will have another field day with Weir if Bartley and Bougherra don't babysit him.

McGregor

Foster/Whittaker - Bartley - Bougherra - Papac

Weiss - Davis - Edu/Hutton - Wylde

Diouf - Jelavic

For me.

However Weir will most def start so i think to accomodate him, i can only think of this:

McGregor

Bougherra - Weir - Bartley/Papac

Foster--------------------------------------Wylde

Edu - Davis - Hutton

Diouf - Jelavic

As has been said already Weir will play on Wednesday and a good few games before the seasons out, Walters words not mine. Surely the big guy must see it himself that we are sitting to deep in order to protect him? This is going to have an affect on how he's remembered by the fans if it costs us any more points

I actually thought Bartley played well. Granted his passing was a bit iffy early on, but at least he tried some ranged passes, nobody was moving for him and he saw players in space. In the second half he kept the ball on the deck and played OK.

I know St Johnstone are shite, but we've lost plenty of goals against shite opposition this season. I thought the defence looked the most solid it's looked for a while (tu)
