Maybe thats down to the fresh challenge, playing teams only twice a season, playing in bigger and better stadiums (other than Ibrox of course) that actually have grass and not sand for a pitch and a support who actually like him and aren't on his back all the time.

As for the atmosphere bit, it is shite at Ibrox now, even old firm games aren't the same as they used to be, that's just a fact of life in Scottish football now. How dare those pesky English generate a good atmosphere at a cup game. Get their grounds closed down immediately.

I'll never forget the moment when I first heard the atmosphere at that game.

The chants, the intensity, the sheer majesty of the occasion.

Whether it was the completely original and inspirational chants like 'come on you blues' or 'west ham! west ham! west ham!', or whether it was the bang-average footballing talent on show, I knew straight away that what I was witnessing was perfection.
