Given we are inching closer to our takeover I thought it would be interesting to highlight the areas for immediate attention, in the style of the US presidency.

1. EXTENSIONS

Contract negotiations opened immediately with the key mainstays we'd like to keep (e.g. McGregor, Davis). The manager needs some continuity and we need to know who is with us. Anyone not signing should be actively marketed at the best transfer fee possible. We NO LONGER HAVE to sell players so sales values should reflect this.

2. TRANSFERS

Implement a transfer policy which only sees the club spend significant sums of money (£1m+) on players under 26 which a re-sale value. Good older players/bosmans are welcome but we shouldn't be throwing major sums at them.

3. PR

Immediately hire a PR/Communications director to defend the club and the fans against this 5yr onslaught. Get back on the front foot with all comms about the club and staunchly defend our position where we have been unfairly highlighted.

4. IBROX

Look to kickstart a maintenance process to return the stadium and it's environs to the level expected of Scotland's premier sporting organisation.

5. MARKETING

Perhaps could be tied in with the PR role but we need to better exploit the potential revenue generating opportunities that exist to us as a club. Merchandise, glamour friendlies, match day income through the food kiosks and possibly new food/drink concessions outside the stadium.

6. Any more suggestions folks???

Whether Whyte sees Rangers as a long term investment or he's just looking to raise the club to higher level then sell it on for a profit; he's going have to do at least 4 out of the 5 things you mentioned.

Like most have said, retaining the core of the team is a priority. It makes Allys job much easier if he has a spine to build around. It's obvious where we need strengthened, so the process of identifying players will be shorter. I would like to think he has a handful of names already from a couple of years of scouting. The difference being that now we can act on it.

Its my understanding that teams are free to negotiate transfers of players and even agree on deal/contracts at any time. But the players can only officially move and money can only change hands during the alloted time period?

Ally could already be talking to clubs and maybe even players. Or their agents at least.

1. Get rid of Bain

2. Renew Contracts

3. Bolster the playing squad and get a world scouting network put in place so we catch them young.

4. Sort out some untapped revenue streams/work harder on the ones we have.

5. Sort out the stadium.

6. Build a Super Casino pipeb.gif

New scouts and a foreign involvement in coaching also but good points raised. We generally just need more talented personnel across the board at RFC. Youth development needs still looked at. Severe lack of home grown players have become regulars and maintained their positions and ability in last ten years

Get the shagger signed up on a longer contract (a 6 year one like reports today would be excellent) would be the very first thing Whyte should do if he buys us. For me, apart from maybe Jelavic with another season under his belt, he is Rangers biggest assest and we should be looking to hold onto him for as long as we can. A fantastic goalkeeper.

I think the new contracts/new signings etc will be taken care of as a matter of course once the takeover is completed.

The most pressing thing for me is the way we are being battered about by the media all season with little response. I would like Mr Whyte to come in with instant banning orders on certain journos/newspapers/reporters right from the start of his tenure.

These cretins will be falling over themselves looking to find out what his big plans are so lets not invite them to the party.

We need to bring someone in who will be dedicated to standing up for the club in the press and in public.

Fuck the dignified silence. If you don't answer slanderous claims about a support, it soon becomes some sort of believed reality.
