ogbg
Today, John Hartson stated that "very seldom do the Old Firm games decide where the title goes". Personally, I find this quite hard to believe. Does anyone have a statistic on the percentage of titles won by either side when they have ended the 4 OF games on top? i.e. in the X years that Rangers/Celtic have finished the OF games with more points than the other, that team has won the title Y times. spanther22
last ten seasons 6 out of 10 times the team that did best in old firm games went on to win the league -twice it finished 6 points each from old firm and we won one league. we had better goal difference from the old firm games in both seasons.twice the team that did worst in the old firm went on to win the league - in 2002/3 and four years later in 2006/7 so the next one would be due 2010/

simplythebest
I'd say his point is more that it's only four games and 12 points to play for, there's 34 other games.Certainly you'd struggle if you lost all four derby games, but I agree with the idea that it's how you do against the other teams that counts more than anything. If we'd beaten Dundee Utd at home the league would still be in our hands with Sunday's draw, despite having a worse Old Firm record. Celtic drew three games in a row at home around November/December time but we just haven't taken advantage of it.
