Sweeney
As I read the reaction to some of us regarding the Uefa hearing and the reported fine and 1 match ban, I cannot believe that the general consensus is relief. All those happy with that verdict have been and truely fallen victim to the anti-rangers propoganda which has taken over our country. Every media outlet is doing everything the can to tarnish our club; The news report outside Ibrox regarding the Neil Lennon bombs, which had nothing to do with Rangers. Spiers' constant attacks on our club. The reporting of the Union flags being flown at Ibrox as a sectarian gesture while rubbishing views that the tri-colour is sectarian, and also disregarding the positive reports from strathclyde police about the behaviour of our fans. Now regarding the PSV situation. As soon as this became apparent, the media didn't question the viability of the claims, but instead it was widely reported that the club were likely to be found guilty. Within hours of the allegation being sent to Uefa from a third party, the media in this country were already subliminally making the nation believe we are guilty. Lets be clear. Their IS an general hatred towards our club from the media in this country. It is no longer paranoia. Everything Rangers related has a negative slant on it, and anything Celtic related which doesn't paint them as saints is swept under the carpet. We should not be happy with this verdict and I really hope our club appeals. Uefa has it's own delegates at our games to monitor our behaviour and specifically our singing, and in both instances, they were happy with how we conducted ourselves. You wouldn't have Nasa staff look over a space shuttle and determine it safe, and then have Rab from the T.O.M garage down the hill say "na that doesnt sound right". Does anybody think this case would have went this far had it happened to a Chelsea or a Barcalona? As soon as the allegation was made we should have had legal teams hounding Uefa.We are in desperate need for somebody to stand up for our club. For years now Murray and Bain have let our club take hit after hit without defending us and look at the mess we are in because of it.
thebooler
I'm certainly not relieved about it, though it could have been worse, if the papers are to be believed.Rangers FC NEED to appeal this in my opinion. The UEFA Rep at the home game never mentioned anything about "banned" songs being sung in his report, so how the fuck can UEFA fine us for something that was reported by somebody else?Unless of course they're going to sack their own Rep for not doing his job properly?Fight it and ask them to prove WHY the songs being sung are sectarian, and ask them why Barcelona and Real Madrid fans are allowed to do it without punishment. Not to mention the pro ira songs sung by the scum.Relieved? No.Fuckin raging? Yes.
Jelle1880
Agreed. It's less than I expected, but we are still being punished for something that didn't happen and they won't tell us who told them, it's a disgrace.
Raligt
I didn't even hear any so called sectarian chanting at the PSV game.
simon
I haven't read through the threads yet, this is the first one I have seen. It is hard to disagree with you. What I would say is that the punishment could have been a lot worse, considering we have had previous. So in that regard I am quite relieved. As soon as this came to light we were attacked from all sides. To which, the fans, reacted to brilliantly. Certain songs ceased and other more "acceptable" ones were brought to the fore. Yet instead of saying, that's great they have listened. We are instead told that our pride in being part of the Union and our right to fly the flag is sectarian. Too right we need someone to stand up for us. But we have been quiet for too long and a lot of damage has been done, and for me the songs have to stay gone. Away from the grounds anyway. If we want them back we would need to go to court and prove they are not sectarian, I don't think that will ever happen though.
scottyboyblue
We haven't got away with this and anybody who thinks we have are burying their heads in the sand, we are being punished with no real evidence against us, but i fear if we appeal, we will be hit harder, so it's a rock and a hard place scenario, i personally think it's been a witch hunt, but for some reason uefa have shit the nest at the last minute, GIRFUY FARE
joker69
I for one am not happy buty considering we have been up against Uefa before it could have been worse.I totally agree with the OP lets hope Whyte finally takes over and has a damn good team of barristers...I can't see an end to the constant attacks/agenda against us until we step up. More allegations will come thick and fast, each more ridiculous and unproven than the last, but given the backing of the media they will cause damage. We must defend ourselves however I fear that Bain's claim of defending the club "vigorously" will turn out to be a complete load of shite.
TheLawMan
Irrespective of who reported us, the club were presented with DVD's of our fans singing "FTP" and "Fenian Bassas". UEFA dont care where or who they came from, it happened and thats it.The club will be mightily relieved tonight given that we wont lose any income. Its time to belt out the Rangers songs for 90 minutes. (tu)So why have uefa representatives present if their verdicts are going to be undermined by an organisation whos integrity is in question. Europe's big clubs would never have allowed this case to even be taken seriously, yet here we are being found guilty. We were promised by Bain that he would be defending the club vigorously, yet from his press release it looks as though we won't be appealing. We need somebody within our club to stand up for us and Bain has proven over the years he is a spineless bastard

There is still evidence of the "crime"I can assure you, the evidence given to the club put us in a bad position. We genuinely feared the worst. Thats why its my belief, we will not appeal, but we will continue a legal fight behind the scenes to expose 2 people in FARE.
Redmond7
Those who run the club simply have to appeal and take it to the CAS if nessecary. Having self appointed organisation, who have a clear and not so hidden agenda, give so called evidence where the club cannot refute it at the hearing is simply pathetic. What some fans are missing here is not whether our fans sang any stupid little lines about fenians or fucking a bigoted child molesting nazi bastard in a dress and pointy hat, but the fact that UEFA are using evidence gained from this despicable, uncountable and self appointed organization. They have their own observers and officials and it should be based on their reports alone, and that not having also changed them after the fact, considering initially UEFA said there were no negative reports. As far as wankers like Queers are concerned, who gives a fuck about making them martyrs, ban and ban them now. The integrity of the person providing any evidence would certainly be called into question if it was initially seen that the first person did not commit such an offence was only being judged based on the evidence of a person or persons with a biased agenda and when such evidence in the first place was never actually forthcoming. Where is it? A few videos of people singing that could be anywhere or anytime is not evidence.

There is no doubt as to what match it is and the timing of it due to strips etc. The Club have the evidence as it was sent to them by UEFA. 6superbarry6
It's pathetic uefa has blatantly handed us a punishment that they know the club will gladly take ie "no lost income" rather than challenge the fallacy of these claims rather than risk further punishment/persecution,if their own delegates give us favourable reports then how can uefa override them on the say so of some two bit organisation whose impartiaity has already been questioned ,these charges should be fought all the way as anything less will just be seen ad an admission of guilt otherwise
RAFREG
WE HAVE TO APPEAL WITH THE HIGHEST RANKING LEGAL TEAM WE CAN MUSTER,if its right that it was Brady who was the observer from FARE. WE SHOULD BE RIDING A COACH AND HORSES THROUGH THIS CRAP.We have to for the sake of the Fans and the Club.

jimgers
If we take on UEFA we will lose the battle imo, i would rather the club bypass Uefa and go after unFARE. Get unFARE into court on an defamation libel case then rip them apart show them up in court and in front of the international press for an bigoted, agenda driven, corrupt organisation they are.
