Whittaker, yes-no-maybe?

Capeable of howlers and brilliance, usually in the same passage of play, seriously he has been pretty much a rock recently, his little dribble before he got dumped on his face, to slip in Diouf to then play in Naimith to burst the net showed skill and desire, classic goal.

I've took a long time to come round to him but he is winning me over now, consistancy is the magic word, if Whittaker had that he would be a star.

that bit of play yesterday shows that he is an intelligent footballer. he is capable of great and also awful football. but over the course of a season he does more good than bad. decent player. imo captain material. always seems to keep a cool head on the pitch as well.

I like him, decent full back either side but a great all round squad player.

I say decent rb/lb because I feel he gets skint too easy at times, I think he dives in too quick

But I'd defo extend his contract, versatility is a great asset to have in a small sqaud

Always loved him. Even when he was poor i knew he would come back with a piece of magic, his goal in Lisbon will live with me forever, one of my all time favourite moments. Might make the odd mistake but who doesnt, he has never let us down due to lack of effort and thats all we can ask.

That is so true. I like him, has been playing really well recently. I just wish he'd stop thinking he was Pele, too many fancy flicks and turns(that's when the howlers appear). In saying that, when they come off, they look great. Apart from that, pleased at how he's progressing.

ive always liked him, wanted us to sign him about a yr before we did. to be honest hes an average player defensively, but going forward he is very good infact hes capable of brilliance. he can also put in a decent shift in any position on the park, the only place he aint played for us yet is striker.

really valuable to have in your team considering his vesitility. i think some of his howlers are just down to him losing concentration sometimes. also i always think our fullbacks should be an asset going forward and whitt is certainly that. bit more work at his defensive side of the game and the boy could be a world class player imo.

For me his main problem is his off the ball positional play, at times he is just nowhere near where he needs to be and it leaves the team vulnerable. But this can be taught and I think if he works on this then he has the quality to be a top player for us.

yeah i agree with you, i think he sometimes just loses concentration which lets him end up in a poor defensive position. like i said if his defensive qualities improve he has the ability to be anything.

that's exactly the problem with him. When rangers are on the ball he is an excellent player to have. But by god when he needs to defend he is a fucking bombscare at time. His positioning is god awful at times. Every winger in the spl will usually get their cross past him.

Pity him and broadfoot cannot be combined. Now that would be a cracking fullback to have

Easily the best RB in the country.

Getting better as well. Versatile, quick, skillful and for some reason, no-one gives him credit for good games. People only ever seem to want to focus on his few poor games.

Also noticed yesterday that he's getting on the weights or something because he is built like a house!

Maybe it is too improve when he is up against wingers. He can outmuscle them when they take him on.
