simplythebestest 2,145
Davie Weir has been immense since coming to Rangers. Even if we'd paid a million quid he'd have been worth it.My feeling is he has to stay. Since Bazza left he has been the leader, and a far better one than Ferguson ever was.If he insists on playing, so be it. But I'd offer him a coaching position with the aim of earning him his stripes to go manage a big team or move up to Rangers hot seat when Ally is done winning titles. If I had my way he'd be assistant next season, although I don't know what effect that would have on internal politics.Either way, I don't want an inspiring figure like that leaving our club for 20 years. SirWalterSmithLegend 206
Not for me, sorry. Great guy, real captain, brilliant servant, but ffs, we need to progress, we need to move on. Thanks for the memories Dave, all the best in your future career.
Goianegra 4,682
I would love him to stay. Neil McCann got it spot on when he said he hadn't put a foot wrong all season except the Old Firm which he got too much stick for.
Amac9 2,060
The past 2 months Weir has been as good as he has ever been for us.

roidrager 10
He leaves a winner and a legend to the game, time for pastures new unless he fancies beeing a coach
simon 1,743
Davie Weir has been outstanding for most of this season. Part of me wants to get someone else in, but the other part thinks why not? Give him another year! I am 50/50 on it.
RobertN 390
Think we need all the experienced plyers we can hold on to to ease Ally into his job

simplythebestest 2,145
Player/Coach contract? This might work a treat. Maybe Davie only gives his best to the lads when he's in the selection mix.
NessFTW 40
I'm gonna leave this one up to Davie, if he wants to stay I'd be happy to play him!If not then thanks for the memories big man, you've been a class act
GersAvA92 53
I'd make him a coach for sure, the man's an inspiration and should stay, maybe not as a player but he's done a damn good job since coming here...no surrender Davie Weir!
