Time to get one over Real Mallorca....My link

Due to admin error, Chori Castro has €18,000 release fee

02/06/2011

Real Mallorca have suffered yet another embarrassing piece of news after Spanish daily Marca revealed that Chori Castro’s release stands at €18,000 due to an admin error.

Castro signed a deal worth £16,500 per week at the club and agreed a release fee of €18 million (£15.7 million). But because of a typing error in the drawing up of the contracts, the final three zeros were missed off.

It is an embarrassing revelation for the club with their star player, who seems like to move on in the summer, being able to leave for just a few thousand Euros.

Whoever made that mistake should be sacked and ordered to pay back every penny they took off the club.

Imagine Barcelona did this on Messi's contract and istead of there being a £200m buy out clause it is a £200,000 buy out clause. That would be brilliant

Who would Messi leave Barcelona for, even if they had to accept a £200k bid?

Hemeds only on 7k a week at Mallorca.

Wonder what we were offering..

The lifestyle would have won him over and not the money.

Coming from a warm climate with a family and has to decide between January in Glasgow to January in Majorca....mmmmmm easy decision. Plus The Bealarics are closer to Israel with only a 2 hour flight time...

If people would rather play for an average team who can not only offer more money, but play in a top league, against top teams, in countries with better weather, then Rangers have no chance of attracting players.

They offered a player more money than us and a whole bunch of sunshine? Why such ill feeling?

What? They managed to get a player from under our noses, thinking they have got one up on us but we go and sign one there best players on the cheap. No ill feeling, would just be rather amusing.

Don't have the answer to that one but Mallorcan fan sites are reporting that he turned down a bigger contract offer from us.

Guess it was the prestige of La Liga and the sunshine that did it.

Look at Wigan,West Brom etc in the Premier league.

They can offer more money and better opposition but fighting relegation every year..If i was a player i would want obviously a good wage but i would want medals too.

You can't show your grandkids a wage packet but you can show them medals and tell them great stories
