gunslinger 270
Regardless of whether he signs a new deal or not, he'll now be a marked man as soon as he fucks up, which likely won't be long in coming if he's up against Templeton in our league opener.indeed. c burke is still taking peters after asking for a decent deal when he was poty. caseyjones 3,009
indeed. c burke is still taking peters after asking for a decent deal when he was poty. When was he poty? He also had a great salary for doing next to fuck all in his time at Ibrox. It's funny how we can't sign anyone because they all want too much money but we can allow ourselves to be held to ransom by Whittaker and his agent. dukestreetsoup 69
If Whittaker where to get 5 years at 20k, that would be about 5.2 million over the piece, say Greegs and Davis look for the same or a bit more, we could be looking at 20 million out of the publicly acknowledged 25 million investment over 5 years. Doesn't leave a lot for anything else, or anyone else.Simply mindblowing stuff.
Irwin Sparkes 97
Chris Burke was our only bright spot during the abysmal 03/04 season, and was linked with Juventus and Inter Milan when we were trying to renew his contractThen came Pittodrie on the opening day of the 04/05 season

SirWalterSmithLegend 206
Owell maybe it will take the pressure off Edu to put in some good performances. The key word there is MAYBE 2 boo boys in the same team, Ibrox will be a fun place to be this season!
SirWalterSmithLegend 206
There won't be an official line from the club, other than to say he's staying or he's going.Players' wages will always be just speculation as the club can't publicise them.Funny that, yet there is a whole host of fans on here who think they know what each and every player earns. Irwin Sparkes 97
It would appear that Whittaker is happy to leave but would be content to stay if we matched any other offers he gotCompare that to Naismith who told his agent not to even bother telling him if other clubs were interested as he only wanted to stay at Rangers

Irwin Sparkes 97
There also may be a sense of Whittaker feeling we owe him after he sat on an £8000 a week contract for 4 years with no talk about another one

Muff 245
There also may be a sense of Whittaker feeling we owe him after he sat on an £8000 a week contract for 4 years with no talk about another oneThere we go.Now I'm not one of his greatest of fans, I don't rate him defensively, but he's always given his all. He has played RB, CB, LB, LM, CM, RM, LM... and never once moaned about it. He's got on with it, and tried is best. It's been a tough number of years and Whittaker has been a regular through out the magnificant three and a row seasons - he's due a reward, but if he's looking for ridiculous money, then he knows where the door is, and we shouldn't bow to it!We don't know what is going on, all we have is reports in the rhags, and until an official line from The Rangers is issued on Whittaker, I will take any tweet, rumour, article in a rhag... with a pinch of salt - he is still contracted to The Rangers. Our club needs 100% backing, it's going to be a very tough and emotional start to this new Era!
