Rangers_no1 16,115
With public transport costs rising, it is a nice touch from Man Utd. How much is a train ticket from London to Manchester nowadays? Btw I got completely mixed up with the point about free entry into the Europa League. United have this policy of making season ticket holders purchase home FA cup and Champions league games, even if they're not attending. What they've done is change that policy for the Europa League, it's now not mandatory to purchase tickets for this game. So it's not free entry and the fans have the option to buy a ticket. No wonder a selection of the United fans have argued against this policy of having to purchase those games, shocking rule. Rangers_no1 16,115
Question for my fellow bears.....How many Man United players do you believe would get starting slot for Barcelona? Who would they replace?
TheKingObv 6,151
Question for my fellow bears.....How many Man United players do you believe would get starting slot for Barcelona? Who would they replace?Vidic possibly for Puyol, but you wouldn't want to disrupt the Pique-Puyol partnership. I think Puyol is better than Vidic, but he isn't as reliable (fitness-wise) anymore.Nobody else is close.
the goal machine 5,564
Question for my fellow bears.....How many Man United players do you believe would get starting slot for Barcelona? Who would they replace?Perhaps Vidic in for Puyol but I'm not sure.

Thermopylae 9,150
Question for my fellow bears.....How many Man United players do you believe would get starting slot for Barcelona? Who would they replace?I take your point but the best players don't always make the best teams I mean how many of the Porto team who won the Champins League ended up at the really big clubs ... and you could say the same about the Danish team who won the Euros (Brian appart of course )
KBOO72 3,482
Question for my fellow bears.....How many Man United players do you believe would get starting slot for Barcelona? Who would they replace?Perhaps evra for abidal at a push and maybe Rooney for one of the front 3 messi aside obviously . I think he'd suit there system perfectly , freedom to roam and get involved wherever he wants .
Ferdasyn 431
I'm not a big fan of Rooney, but when he gets to roam and do whatever he wants he's very effective. He's had some brilliant games when not playing as an out and out striker, some of his long passes are top quality.
BillyBoy11 63
Evra at Left Wing Back.Rooney could easily play the as the centre forward.Nani could maybe if he was more a team player.

He's unbelievably inconsistent , something which I'm sure fergie and most other would have thought he would have grown out of by now .
sdunsmb 43
Question for my fellow bears.....How many Man United players do you believe would get starting slot for Barcelona? Who would they replace?I don't think any of them would be guaranteed starters but Evra, Vidic, Carrick, Nani, Rooney are good enough to be used squad members.
Ryan_1 1,127
Wayne Rooney could easily play as one of the front three. The rest of the current United would struggle, Evra and Nani could get themselves into the squad, aswell as Vidic. That comes from a United follower.
Columbo 588
Only Rooney, Evra and Vidic would be regulars.Phil Jones would probably be groomed as long term replacement for Puyol
Creampuff 17,076
Vidic is horrifically overrated.
Gid 46
I don't think any of them would be guaranteed starters but Evra, Vidic, Carrick, Nani, Rooney are good enough to be used squad members.Really? Guys like Keita and Thiago can't get into the first 11 but you think Carrick would be a useful squad player?
Gid 46
Vidic is horrifically overrated.Agree. A few years ago he looked the part but I think he's now living off that reputation without reaching that same high standard.
King Jela 12,991
Why Evra ? He's so inconsistent.Edit - Naw in fact, he's just nowhere near good enough.

Rangers_no1 16,115
Thought this question might get some debate going. Read something similar on a United forum asking how many would get in Barcelona and Real Madrid's teams. Should have read some of the shouts, De Gea would replace Valdes, Hernandez has a shout to start for Real, loads Rio claims. Not sure why Barcelona's youth players continue to get underestimated. Likes of Bartra, Fontas, Montoya have fantastic futures and just because they haven't played often means they're shit or Smalling/Jones/Fabio etc are better.Anybody else believe Rooney would struggle to start at Barcelona? He wouldn't be played as the striker, Messi has that false number 9 role. Thus meaning Rooney would not get to 'roam' which occurred when he play LW at United. How often does Rooney take players on or dribble with the ball? United fans regularly mention he's lost a yard of pace and doesn't offer that part anymore. That's important to the two forward roles at Barcelona, whilst running in behind and staying out wide to offer width, personally I don't think Rooney suits those two roles. sdunsmb 43
Really? Guys like Keita and Thiago can't get into the first 11 but you think Carrick would be a useful squad player?Wasn't really saying he would be 'useful' for them, just giving an indication of the standard of player that wouldn't be out of their depth if they had to slot into their respective position. It's one of those hypothetical questions which is difficult to answer and depends how it is interpreted.

Although Im not sure any of them would fit into the Barca set up. Its completely different from any other team.
