What would be the 1 thing you'd say you have noticed abous The Rangers this year?

And what would be your 1 hope for 2012?

For me Id say Steven Whittaker is not a defender, and giving him that ridiculous contract was a big mistake.

My main hope in 2012 would be that the youngsters will be played ahead of the dross like Jig, Broadfoot and Healy etc.

Oh and hopefully Title 55 :D

The one thing I have noticed this year is that Walter knew how to get the best from his players in the first half of the year. Second half we have no direction, partly because of baffling formations and team selections and partly because the majority of our players don't look like they care anymore. In the new year I hope to see the deadwood gone, a couple of good players brought in and more of our youth to be given a chance. If Ally is staying, I hope he starts to show he has what it takes to be a good manager. Mistakes will be made and tolerated, the ineptitude he has shown so far cannot be.

The thing I have noticed about us this year is as each week goes by, Ibrox is becoming more like a morgue.

It is now at the stage where the only singing is coming from The Blue Order/Union Bears - the rest of The Stadium is absolutely dead.

My hope for 2012 is really quite simple - a return to the atmosphere of old at Ibrox - a place opposing teams were terrified of and a place that lifted our players at every game.

There is no finer sound than an Ibrox in full voice.

I'd say the same thing that I said in 2007...2008...2009...2010...2011 > Steven Whittaker is not a full back and whoever gave him that contract should be the host of a fucking public flogging doh

My main hope in 2012 is that McCoist will wake up to himself and become the manager every Rangers supporter hoped he would have been and that all Bluenoses be safe and see another title heading our way.

By all means aye keep Whittaker, but to put him up with Jelavic, Davis and Shagger is just :anguish: Means hes virtually undroppable now which isnt helping and fits right into the category of favourites starting ahead of people when they havent turned up this season.

I really can't find words to describe what I feel about Whittaker as a defender. For four and a half years i've listend to guys argue with me that Whittaker will learn how to defend against a wide man....Four and a half years later, he still hasn't learned how to defend against a wide man, and now those same guys who defended him have admitted that he will never learn this most basic of skills for a full back.

If, as has been quoted, he is on a 5 year extension of his contract that pays him 25 thousand quid a week, then somebody at Ibrox has lost the plot completely. doh

Cant even blame Bain

What I think happened was Ally has said to Whyte he is a vital player and we want to keep him at all costs. It was one of Whytes first dealings for his new manager so I dont think he could have let him down so to speak, he backed Ally and its failed so far. Buck stops at Ally.

Why Rangers havent got a guy like Arthur Numan or David Robertson in to show Whittaker how not to get caught with a diagonal or show a player onto their weaker foot is criminal. At least get Whitts into wide right mid if you are forced to play him week in week out. At least Alan Hutton learned how to defend after a while.

You might be closer to the truth with that part of your comment, because the ONLY reason I can think of that Whittaker gets a contract like that is because of his versatility ( Some might crack that he's versatile alright....He's fucking shite in a lot of positions) :anguish: so McCoist reckons he is worth it for that reason alone if nothing else.

Your idea of having a defensive coach is not as daft as it sound neither, because lots of clubs have specialist guys to show the players how to do things properly, because let's face it,McCoist and McDowell were strikers and Durrant was a midfielder.

Perhaps there is an opening for Davie Weir to teach the defenders because he was an excellent right back in his younger days.

Its definately something that needs looked at. Even just a few weeks working with someone of experience would do him good. Im sure Ally shows the forwards a thing or two about how to play up top.

Id honestly sell whitts for £2m if anybody was mad enough to pay that. The £1m from Buraspor doesnt seem so bad now eh.
