Would mortgaging our ST sales really be so bad?

how could he possibly mortgage the next 3 seasons ticket sales, simply because no one knows how many rangers will shift over the next 3 years

thats like ordinary joe bloggs going for a loan and saying to the bank "i can afford 300 quid a month payments, i dont work the now but im looking for a job and hopefully get one in the next month or 2"

it must be one load of shite, no company is going to turn round and allow especially us to do this

He's done it. He admitted it himself. We now owe Ticketus £26m.

Start of Daily Record's 5 page story:

Craig Whyte sold off four years' of fans money to help fund his buy-out of Rangers.

And Record Sport can also reveal high-ranking HMRC officials are investigating alleged non-payment of VAT since last May. Current director Dave King and former board member Paul Murray are being quizzed by tax authorities as part of their enquiry which has revealed £24.4million has been borrowed against future season ticket sales. Four seasons worth have been sold to Ticketus, a London-based company linked to Octopus, and it's claimed this deal helped finance Whyte's operating costs after the takeover.

Whyte himself last night confirmed he has sold off the tickets but denied he used the money to pay off Lloyds Bank. He insisted the £18m came from one of his own companies.

Whyte's spokesperson response:

The suggestion that the Rangers takeover was funded through financing arrangements on season tickets is totally untrue. Rangers FC is no different in that it has a working capital facility with Ticketus, as have many, many other clubs. It is a common arrangement in football. This facility was in place at Ibrox long before the takeover.
