JM1872 3,705
As a taxpayer, I'm not happy with the way HMRC are willing to fuck about with my money. As a Rangers fan, I despise the cunts.I second that

reddrock 107
Whyte will get paid either way.If HMRC has there action granted they are then a secured creditor ( fact) which means all liabilities are protected , if whyte sets admin they are not protected , he is , seems to Me HMRC are playing poker with proper cards and Whytes cards are the happy families set .I have a feeling Whytes bluff has been called and he did not expect this route to be taken by HRMC . Kerkar 0
I have no doubt that Whyte expected this. AJ said yesterday that Whyte spent the majority of due dilligence on the tax case. He should be prepared for every eventuality.

boss 1,941
I would be surprised if he hadnt expected this...I bet he nevert expected this move tho casey and him not having a hand picked administrator could fuck his plansI received information yesterday (you'll just have to trust me, or not) that made this a possible scenario, so if I found out about it then it shouldn't have come as a surprise to Whyte's people. Turnberry18 3,204
Didn't think so! Educate me.I think this move today is the battle for preferred creditor status. If HMRC win it then Craig Whyte won't see much. He obviously made that move yesterday to preempt that. It's a game of poker, with Rangers in the middle; that part you know, but it's nice to remind ourselves of that time and again.

HG5 11,064
Think if court orders appointment of an administrator to HMRC they get to appoint their own, whereas we'd appoint our own if we follow up our application from yesterday & enter administration ourselves.Obviously, their appointee would be coming at it from a different angle to ours.Appointments can be challenged by parties with significant stakes in the outcome. StudsLonniegan 9
But we do not owe them anything at the moment unless they know the result of the tax case.Don't let facts confuse the doomsayers.

Turnberry18 3,204
How can HMRC move to put us in admin over a debt we don't have?Rangers have brought this to a head. There is an implied debt that Administration compromises. We really are nearing closure on this: how Rangers comes out at the other end is where we fans are anxious. Senna 735
How can HMRC move to put us in admin over a debt we don't have?Still trying to figure that one out. I can only think this is a necessary move on their part to ensure preferred creditor status.
StudsLonniegan 9
Apologies, I thought that Whyte was the preferred creditor no matter what.Whyte is still prime secured creditor, HMRC are still unsecured creditor.
dan_ger 1,454
Tax lawyer on SSN now says it shouldn't make a difference who put the club into Admin. But I suppose it will force Whytes hand. He wouldn't then be able to call off the admin if HMRC get their request granted?
