sergio 1,199
He is spot on. I get the pish ripped out of me in work constantly about how shite scottish football is If Sky put the same percentage of money in to Scottish Football, then chances are, we would not be in this state. Look at some of the dross in the EPL - outside of the top 4 or 5 they are not in great shape either. The best league in the world for me, is the bundesliga- I love German football - more passionate than the EPL Gordon McQueen is entitled to his opinion and I like the guy as a person, but these comments don't do us any favours. Bradfield 35
In fairness, there are some people in England that slag off every league in the world (including the Spanish) for being pish compared to the FAPL.

GMac 1,405
The thing is Gordon McQueen and other anglo-scots said similar things in the 70's and possibly even the sixties about Scottish football. There was always a bit of resententment with Anglos looking down on the Scottish game. Now sadly it's with justification.
scottylad72 19
I think he's being simplistic, to be honest. For years Scottish football punched above it's natural level, largely due to the presence of the Old Firm and a pool of great players. But thanks to the increasing commercialism of the game, with Rangers in the vanguard, at the start, Scotland has been left behind. And the legacy is two clubs that are hugely out of proportion to the rest. Those two clubs are hamstrung by being in a minor league, while the rest of the clubs are hamstrung by being in the same league as the Old Firm. Sure, it means bumper gates when the Old Firm visits, but they can't compete.Whats this weird concept?
