Jimbo. 952
They only just reported this 5 minutes ago. He's been in hospital for a few hours now.It was fairly obvious it was a critical situation tho Mr L, it isn't surprising.
simplythebest 11,453
Lets just say the guy has a much better chance now than he did while lying unable to breathe on the pitch, in this situation the condition was always going to be critical. All the best wishes in the world go to Fabrice. pcbear 10,913
Just shows you how fickle life is when a man in tip top physical shape, 23 years of age who has probably had many stringent medicals to ascertain his level of fitness, can just fall over with near death the result, good luck son and hope you pull through, big up for the medical staff around WHL today. SwallowsHisOwnSpunk 7,699
Will he be able to recover enough to carry on playing I know at the moment it's the last thing on peoples mind but if he survives this what state will he be in I remember doing some first aid course years ago and it said a heart attack stops your lungs from pumping which stops air reaching your brain which leads to brain damage eventually if you survive does that mean he wasn't getting any oxygen at all until his heart was restarted or do oxygen masks and the chest compressions mimic the actions of the heart keeping his brain supplied with oxygen and preventing brain damage? that old Celtic player had a heart attack Evander Snow and he is still playing soI hope that's what happens with Muamba.good luck to him and his family

Madina 3,722
I would imagine he will be told not to play again. Don't know if you have had a heart attack if it makes you more prone to have another one, or if it weakens the heart in any way? Just hope he pulls through and sees his son grow up
StevenDavis 112
Is it fair to say his career's over, to the medically minded among us?Didn't something happen to Ruben De La Red a few years ago? He had to retire at 25 iirc.
CaptainAmerica18 846
Is it fair to say his career's over, to the medically minded among us?Should he make it I'm sure that would need to be the advice given but as people have said, Evander Sno went through something similar and continued his career. Not to say Muamba doesn't have a previously undiscovered one though.
