welsh103 12
I'd have a 4-3-1-2 formation.. CasillasCafu, Cannavaro, Maldini, Roberto CarlosFigo, Xavi, ZidaneRonaldinhoFat Ronaldo and Messi What would your starting 11 be? People would question having Figo, but the guy was a great player!Thought about having Davie Weir at the centre of a 5 man defence.. Gone for a more attacking line-up though. Ronaldo----------Messi----------------------------------------------------------------------------Ronaldo----------------------everyone from the midfield forward, bar Ronaldinho, got on there without so much as a 2nd though, Ronaldinho could have been Rivaldo or Iniesta... but went with Ronaldinho for sheer entertainment value.Carlos and Cafu for me, terrorised world cups the way they got up and down the wings.Van Der Sar/Lucio/Vidic could have been others, Maldini for example will be a choice for most, but i picked they 3 o nthe basis of reaching a peak in form. Most notably the season when United conceeded just 24 goals and ripped up the record books, and Lucio for me has always been a stand out CB when it really counts, most notibly Mourinhos 2nd season at inter when they won the treble, Lucio was as good as you get. I would also go for 3 at the back dropping Lucio and put an extra midfielder of Paul Scoles.
papaguy51 912
I think it's always quite sad to see people forgetting how good Mendieta was in his prime at Valencia.I'd always find room for him in the team of my lifetime.
cameron1873 509
Its a shame that Ronaldo is referred to these days as fat Ronaldo. He is one of the greatest players I have ever seen. If things in his career went a bit differently such as injury and not loosing the 1998 world cup imo he would be classed in the same league as pele and maradona (for me he was as good as them)Stillmy favourite player of all time

Only lacked consistancy due to injuries.even when he was fat he was still astounding though...not a bad hatrick for a chubby:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVyLmas6tUw

esquire8 41,911
No way you could name a best team of the past decade. Too many brilliant players. Just have a team involving Zidane, Messi, Henry and the proper Ronaldo with any other 7 players. Simple.

welsh103 12
Picking one team is borderline impossible. Can't disagree with that! Like you say, you'd need to pick 3 teams to get all the best ones in. Makelele or Viera should be in my lineup as defensive midfielders but I just cannot find space for them! Impossible choice. welsh103 12
Would anyone have Rivaldo in their line-up? Or even Drogba or Torres? Maybe the latter 2 haven't shown enough consistency to be worthy..
Ricky_ 893
Would anyone have Rivaldo in their line-up? Or even Drogba or Torres? Maybe the latter 2 haven't shown enough consistency to be worthy..i mentioned in mine that it was a toss up realy between Rivaldo, Ronaldinho & Iniesta.Really could have been any of the 3, but in the end i think Ronaldinho just had a more memorable brilliance than the other 2, and more entertaining.
