Fairly obvious vote, and will be interesting to see the result.

I'm all for telling the SFA/SPL to stick their punishments, watching them flounder and fall away for three years with no Sky money and the SPL having one of its biggest money spinners nowhere for three years.

I think they'd crumble if we can play hardball.

I think the SPL, and SFA for that matter, are really underestimating the powers a strong Rangers and Scumtic have in regards to bringing in finance for the league anguish.gif

Of course, they'll still have the Edinburgh Derby, which Colin Cameron reckons is bigger than the Old Firm rolleyes.gif

When did he say that?

I've seen him sitting amongst the bears before :)

What I can't understand is why any SPL clubs would support a 10 point penalty for 2 seasons as it will only benefit the Tims and make no difference to the rest whatsoever

Do they really want to hand the title to THEM for 2 years....and if so why ?.....Surely they've got nothing to gain from a competition where the winner is decided before the start of the season......and the loss of interest which will come from that

Turkeys voting for an early Christmas ?

%75 Less money  Rangers are the reason the spl get that sort of money. Fucking deluded wankers the spl are.

Division 3 for me. Start our own tv station and fuck the rest. We will come back fresher and stronger as these deluded clubs in the spl hang on by their finger nails.

When did he say that?

I've seen him sitting amongst the bears before :)

He is referring to a Scottish Cup Final at Hampden I have to say... but if it isn't naturally bigger I don't see how it would be a bigger occasion?

Colin CAMERON insists an all-Edinburgh Scottish Cup Final would be bigger than an Old Firm showdown.

The former Jambos hero, who lifted the trophy in 1998, admits he’s pumped up at the prospect of the Gorgie outfit facingarch-rivals Hibs at Hampden on May 19.

Cameron knows it’s a long way off, with Paulo Sergio’s side up against Celtic in their semi-final this Sunday.

Hibs face Aberdeen in the other last-four clash as they bid to end their 110-year Scottish Cup hoodoo.

Cameron – now player-boss at Cowdenbeath – swears if both clubs can progress to the Final, it would eclipse a Rangers-Celtic clash because an Edinburgh derby showpiece final is a rarity in Scottish football.

They last met in the Final more than a century ago, when Hearts beat Hibs 3-1 in 1896.

That’s why Cameron believes it would be a monumental match for both sets of players – and he’s convinced it would generate more interest than if the big two from Glasgow went head to head.

He said: “It would be nice, wouldn’t it? I wasn’t even sure if it had ever happened before but it would be great if they could both reach the Final.

“It would be fantastic for the city of Edinburgh and for all the fans. It would probably be the biggest Edinburgh derby of all time. The only other occasion that would match it is if Hearts and Hibs were first and second in the SPL and they were playing in a potential title decider.

“So it would be massive for both clubs. Edinburgh and the whole of Scottish football would benefit from it.

“Too often, it’s been the same with Rangers playing Celtic or at least one of them reaching the Final. A lot has been made of how often they face each other – the edge has been lost a wee bit.

“Because it hasn’t happened in 116 years, a Hearts v Hibs final would generate more interest than an Old Firm one. It would be a bigger game, especially for people who aren’t even connected with either of the clubs.

“If it was an Old Firm final, they’d say, ‘Oh it’s Rangers and Celtic again.’ But Hearts v Hibs would be brilliant.

“It’s a long way off at the moment because they both have difficult ties and they’ll want to get through for their own reasons. I know Hearts won’t be thinking beyond Celtic because they can’t afford to.”

If both Edinburgh sides do progress to the Final, it would raise an argument as to whether the game should be played at Murrayfield.

But Cameron is adamant Hampden is the only venue for the Scottish Cup Final because it’s the “home of football”.

He also dismissed the notion Hibs supporters wouldn’t want the Jambos in the Final because they couldn’t bear to lose to their oldest rivals.

The midfielder, who made 157 appearances for Hearts, said: “Murrayfield isn’t an option.

“Unfortunately for me, playing at Hampden in a final is a thing I never experienced. I played in a couple but they were at Celtic Park and Ibrox.

“So no, Hampden is the home of Scottish football and the Final should be played there, it’s as simple as that. It doesn’t matter who is in the Final, that’s where it should be played.

“You’d have to ask the Hibs fans if they’d want to face Hearts but the majority would want them in the Final because it hasn’t happened for so long.

“And it would be one up on the Glasgow sides for a change. All too often, it’s been the other way. Only the narrow-minded fans from both sides would rather face someone else. Hearts would probably be favourites due to their league position and they’d have beaten Celtic on the way. They’d have to approach the game the same way Celtic will approach the semi.

“Hearts will have to play better than they’ve ever done to win.”

For the Jambos’ sake, Cameron hopes Celtic will still be in party mode after their title win.

But after losing the League Cup Final to Kilmarnock, he’s certain Neil Lennon will ensure the Hoops don’t make the same mistakes again.

So for Sergio’s men to win, Cameron insists they will need the same kind of desire and team spirit Jim Jefferies’ side showed in ’98 when they shocked Rangers 2-1 to lift the trophy.

He said: “Hearts have to go for it. They’re not expected to win so they can play with no fear. If you do that, you have a chance – Killie proved that.

“Celtic aren’t unbeatable but Neil has them playing so well. Hearts will hope they’ve been celebrating a bit too much.

“If every Hearts player is at the top of his game – with 10 per cent more on top – they can win.

“I wouldn’t say we were written off in ’98 because Jim instilled a belief in us and we’d run the Old Firm close in the league that year.

“We had no stars but we had an unbelievable spirit between the lads. We went out together as often as possible – nowadays you try to organise a night out and only four or five guys turn up. But we had that bond and we knew we were capable of causing an upset.”

Division three and fuck them all - we've won everything else so we may as well win all the other divisions and cups too. If it came to this you would surely see a few other SPL teams going tits up too. Nothing would give me more pleasure than seeing the likes of Aberdeen getting fucked too.

I've used too quite a few times there but can't be arsed changing it !

Us/them have been looking for a way out of spl for years. Perfect chance to tell them to shove it and start in league 2 in england if they'll have us.I'd rather start from scratch in lower leagues in england than lower leagues in scotland where there isnt the prospect of serious income 5/10 years down the line as there is in premiership or championship. If we jump ship, celtic wont be far behind us,then the rest can have the Spl to themselves,They seem to think they dont need us anyway!

If the English route isnt possible I wouldnt like to drop down out spl but I would urge the gers support to boycott every away game and hit every club in the pocket. All the smaller teams rely on the old firm to fund there clubs, let them rot.

We should go to div 3. We can survive without them but they can't live without us . If the rest of the spl thought for one minuite that they could survive without Rangers then we would not even get a chance to stay in their league , we would be thrown out as far as they could send us.
