Good to finally see a team come out and support Rangers, looks like some teams are realising the potential implications.

From record.

PAULO SERGIO believes the SPL could end up defunct if Rangers are thrown out of Scotland’s top flight.

The Hearts boss fears the worst if the crisis-hit Ibrox club are forced to start again in the SFL’s Third Division.

Gers’ remain in a state of turmoil after being hammered over gross mis-management for the SFA and there are fears they face liquidation.

Boss Ally McCoist has admitted it might be better for them to begin a new life in the lower leagues – but Sergio insists that would be a disaster.

And he is adamant everyone in the Scottish game should be doing what they can to help the Ibrox club survive. He said: “I have a strong feeling, from everything I read and see on TV, that Rangers need help at the moment. They need all the help they can get to survive.

“I believe Scottish football needs a strong Rangers.

“It’s not up to me to offer opinion on whether the transfer ban is fair or not.

“But I don’t think it helps them. In fact, it makes the job of everybody at Rangers, including the manager, very difficult.

“If you’re going to start making these kind of decisions, probably one of these days we won’t have an SPL.

“If you send a club down and don’t protect them, maybe the SPL will disappear.

“They have to be careful with some of these
