Harry just told us that it has happened. It hasn't, quite, but BBC Sport's Ben Smith reports that Christopher Samba has passed his medical at QPR and is expected to finalise a £12.5m move from Anzhi Makhachkala any time soon.

It is understood the 28-year-old centre-back has agreed terms on a deal that will see him receive £100,000-a-week, including bonuses and add-ons.

I'd imagine the players they have signed in January will all have a relegation clause in their contracts and a bonus for stayin up.

Will probably make more money if they go down!

I'm shocked he's 28 to be honest, thought he was much older.

Imagine 250K a week to be encouraged to eat your 5 a day, i wish...

He'd probably be on what he is asking for now I'd imagine.

Decent defender but to be in the same bracket of wages as some of the top ones out there is mental.

Well played to him though.

I don't think the money they are paying for Samba is too unreasonable tbh.

He was fantastic for Blackburn and this time last year he was being linked with Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham & Chelsea.

Had Anzhi not bid silly money he'd probably be playing for one of them now.

Have to disagree.

Don't think he is anything special tbh and certainly not worth that money.

If Arsenal, Chelsea ect were serious then he would have been there not Russia IMO.

I used to quite like Wigan :(

@juliette_grace says McGeady ain't coming to Wigan. So no Celtic reunion at DW.

Martinez: "Aiden is a phenomenal footballer, but is a footballer that is playing his football in Russia. I don't think that's going to change. It's not going to happen".
