"The SPL Want To HaveTheir Cake and Eat It...

Recommended Posts

...; they want to give Rangers a 'right good kicking' for wrongdoing, and punish them; but my goodness!, they want them in the SPL". This was the words of a scribe on Newsnight Scotland last night, referring to an important consideration the SPL will have as they decide the fate of their investigations into Rangers.

If anyone bothers to google the phrase Terms of Reference it stipulates that the aim of terms of reference will 'show how the scope will be defined, developed, and verified. They should also provide a documented basis for making future decisions and for confirming or developing a common understanding of the scope among stakeholders'.

If we consider any judgement passed on to Rangers from the SPL, can it hope to be fair and objective if part of the punishment will be to punish Rangers strictly on the terms of reference ascribed to the SPL last night?
