France won the group match 3-1.He took the record from England's Wayne Rooney, who briefly held the title of the youngest scorer at the tournament eight years ago after scoring against Switzerland at the age of 19.Vonlanthen moved to Columbia last year to play for Itagui. He also played for Salzburg and FC Zurich.Vonlanthen told Blick that he'll be happy without football. LeeWallaceRFC 3,920
So he's retiring through injury ?Looks like it.Although apparently it could have been cured through an operation but he rejected it. Strange, although maybe he's made enough money to set himself up for life. The only reason I can think of tbh.

Yoghurto 9
I think he just can't be arsed anymore, his career hasn't really kicked on after all the promise he's shown early on.
Straight-Edge-Loyal 6,686
He was a decent player who with the right move could have made it its a shame he has retired though. On a side not was it not him who scored when Switzerland beat Spain I think it was at the world cup. BlueSuedeSambas 53,754
Mind Dean Ashton? I thought he was quality. He was.He looks awful now though. He was on Goals on Sunday last year and he is bald & fat. He looked about 40 & I doubt he is even 30 yet.
