G.E.C. 18,760
Rangers' top players will be available on cut-price deals from Friday under clauses in their contracts, as they revert to their full salaries. The squad agreed to cuts of up to 75% at the beginning of March, as administrators Duff & Phelps sought to avoid sweeping redundancies. In exchange, several players insisted on minimum release clauses. It means players like Steven Naismith, one of Rangers' prize assets, could be sold for £2m. Others who have similar clauses include Steven Whittaker (around £850,000) and team captain Steve Davis, who would be available for in the region of £1.65m. Kyle Lafferty, who has just a year left on his contract, can go for about £500,000, with Maurice Edu even cheaper at just £300,000. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18288091

Sobatai 70
The BBC just love this don't they...The media loves a football club in crisis. This one has possibly been the best one yet, as it is a genuinely huge club and the crisis has gone on and on and on.

Sasa_Papac_No1_Fan 605
is this legal for the bbc to print how much the release clauses are for each player? i am asking because i remember alan pardew getting asked if demba ba had a 7 million release clause and he said nobody is allowed to know that but the player, club and agent. Londonderry_Bear 111
Just the BBC making sure that it's well publicised so everyone knows. Though why intelligent people such as football managers and agents would waste their time looking at the BBC for "news" is beyond me
bombaybadboy08 15,660
I'm surprised they didn't go the full hog and put them on ebay.

nachothelegend 1,932
So when our players sallaries go back up tjat then means their Value goes up too.Wish they piss of with bad news after bad.BBC Scotland are loving putting the boot in to us and they arent even hiding the fact they want us to go out of business .They are everything thats soooo wrong with Scotland, and are a total waist of licence payers money.I await massive redundancys within the sports dept with eager anticipation ,the same way they await ours. thiepvalwood 33
And every one of them are replaceable, with the exception of Mr Naismith in my opinion, and from what I hear, he is in no hurry to leave. Whittaker for 850k....where do I go pick him up from ? Feck the bbc.
Cadman 342
i always the thought the cut prices release deal was only in effect if Whyte was still running the club - which he effectively isn't anymore.
BrizOz 1
We've known this for ages. Not really anything new. Were the figures given?Surely the BBC is doing what would be expected of a news organisation. Would we expect them to protect Celtic if that club were in a similar situation? I'm sure there would be screams on the forum.
