Edmiston Drive 3,846
I read TUPE and spoke to a PFA rep, players or any employee cannot be forced to cross over to newco, it is a liquidation event not an administration one, the law is clear unfortunately for us, the newco doesn't have a leg to stand on.Actually if this was an out and out liquidation.......BDO would have been sitting in Ibrox for the last week the gates would be locked .shutters down and unemployemnt apart from a few to help run down the club. This scenario we are in is the Bill Miller plan........take assets and players over to the newco and let admin get on with winding down the old shell that was the Ltd Co.Can you not see through the gunsmoke Are you The Chairman

Claddie 53
nextprev Ally McCoist Statement 1 of 1Replica ShirtRangers TVTicketsAlly McCoist StatementSat, Jun 23, 2012TweetRANGERS manager Ally McCoist has this afternoon released the following statement. He said: "It has been reported that a couple of players have indicated they want to challenge the transfer of their contracts. This is news to me and no player has spoken to me about it."At all times during my first year as manager, I strived to show players respect and in return would have hoped they would have shown me, and more importantly the club, respect by notifying us of their intentions before making it known elsewhere."Players have their own decisions to make and I understand that, but the question they have to ask themselves is do they want to play for Rangers or not?"The formation of a new company is not the issue. The players would be playing for the same club - Rangers - in front of the same fans."If players want to leave and play somewhere else then they should be honest with the Rangers supporters."I don't want Rangers fans to be reading over the next few days how devastated players are about having to go. The fans deserve better than that. They are not daft."I can understand if a player has the chance to go somewhere else and there is uncertainty about which division we will be playing in."If that is the case that is understandable but they should not expect sympathy from Rangers supporters if they use the transfer of contracts as an excuse."I already know there are agents touting my players all over the United Kingdom, so let's be brutally honest."We are in a difficult situation and the contracts issue has given some players and agents the belief they can use it to leave the club."After all that the club and the fans have gone through, the supporters, above all, deserve the truth and should not have to listen to stories trying to sugar-coat the possible departure of players from the club."The players were magnificent last season and made great sacrifices and that will never be forgotten."Now, we have to look forward and everyone should be upfront and honest about their intentions."Rangers CEO Charles Green added: "We are meeting the PFA Scotland and their legal advisers on Monday with a view to allaying players' concerns about the transfer of contracts so the timing of these announcements by players is hard to understand."The transfer of contracts has already happened and the club's clear legal advice is that players' purported objection is ineffective."Rangers would like to make it abundantly clear to players, agents and the chairmen and managers of other football clubs that we will take whatever steps necessary to challenge what we regard as a breach of contract to protect the interests of our club."Ally MccoistGood statement appears very honest. Looks like Green is coming out to defend our position as well.

Ricky_ 893
fucking spot on McCoist.these guys are having the contracts they signed & agreed to returned to normal before the cuts.if they want to leave, you hand in a transfer request. I'm sure the majority of fans would not begrudge them that, a footballing career is a short one, alot of these guys deserve european football, or premiership football. Even some of the more established youngsters deserve at the very least SPL football, not division 3. So no-one will begrudge a transfer request.if any of these guys use the newco situation however as a fucking excuse to screw the club and walk away for nothing, it's the ultimate insult to the badge & fans imo and, much like the cuts they agreed to, that won't be forgotten either. Edmiston Drive 3,846
I would take a look at wishart's advice to the players as regards their position it is crystal clear they are free agents.Hve known Fraser for some 20 years and he is very rarely right.....and this is not an out and out liquidation scenario. OneDavidCooper 2,505
Hear hear allyAny true ranger wont leave, as ally says its the same club on the same contract, anyone who leaves is a traitor in my book (especially if they dont even notify the manager first)I'm not sure that is the message I took from his statement. For me the key thing was "if you leave its for football reasons, so don't sugar coat it and don't use the club's current plight to excuse what you are doing" and "be honest with the supporters".I personally don't think any player who leaves deserves to be called a traitor. After all, club's use players like meat and move them on when it suits them. But, if they do want out don't lie about the reasons why you are leaving and don't blame the uncertainty for your decision.

loyalfollower 1,543
Well even if it turns round in the clubs favour I honestly dont want mccabe or aluko back. Fair enough they took paycuts and applaud them for that, but there is no reason not to transfer until next week at the earliest. Dont need or want any half hearted statements from any player that goes. Just goes to show when RFC really needs its players all they want to do is leave. Dont let the door hit you on the way out. Atleast the true fans dont do walking away
