Rule H5

North Rd

Sorry if this is already been covered.

When's it going to end. If they go by this rule, we don't have any league to play in next season.

If they now ask the SPL clubs on rule H5 and they say No, then the SPL will only have 11 teams next season leaving no vacancy in the SFL.

I can't copy paste, but it only comes into effect if a team goes bust mid season, bottom line, they need to invite Dunfermline back up or we are snookered.

Division 1 teams have been offered £100k and Rangers will be in Div1 next season

Signed and sealed so I heard (from a source at Livi)

Why would they promote Dunfermline? Surely whoever finished 2nd in the SFL should benefit from the place we leave behind.

Dunfermline were woeful all season in the SPL and do not deserve to walk straight back in because of our situation.

The H5 rule only applies if a club ceases to exist which isn't us!

Found this wee bit of info

Rule H5 states that if a club ceases to exist, the number of relegation places will be adjusted accordingly. That would mean an 11-team SPL in 2012/13 and, crucially, no vacancy in the Scottish Football League (SFL).

This is the SPL, deserve counts for nothing.

The SPL have already announced a 12 team fixture list. They won't change that. Their clubs will lose enough revenue without one of them sitting out every weekend. Motherwell issued a pretty reasonable report to their fans based on Gers in or out and it doesn't make happy reading for any SPL club. Our omission will hit every club. Sky and ESPN will renegotiate their deals downward. Sponsorship money will reduce as will missing out on our fans twice a season for 5 of them and at least once for the other 6. The league will be over by Xmas, handed to the tims on a plate, on a strictly "sporting integrity" plate. Every Gers fan should renew season tickets, bin their Sky and ESPN tv deals, visit the away games in SFL and boycott the SPL away grounds of the teams who voted against us. Probably won't be as many as 11 of them left when we get back up.

We didn't go bust mid season though. We went bust post season.

You're wrong on both counts bud it's about "cease to exist" and "club" not "company" we as a club still exist, the club was transferred over with assets, history, goodwill etc..

however the share is still held by the oldco (which no longer has a club attached). I'm not disputing that the club still exists. AS the share in the SPL is held by the company, not the club, it IS about company.

We have neither a share in the SPL or SFA membership as a club. I am rigt about the fact it was post season, not mid season as we had fulfilled our outstanding fixtures.

If any Club in the League ceases to operate or to be member of the League for any reason, its playing record in the League may be expunged and the number of relegation places from the League shall be reduced accordingly.

If Dunfermline are saved Relegation the SFL already have a system in place to fill the vacancy in Division 1 (losing playoff finalist promoted until a space is in division 3).

If Dunfermline aren't spared then Dundee will move up with the same criteria being used to fill the spots.

I understand now about the oldco still holding the share bud cheers (tu)

Oh and from what i read earlier (Telegraph) it would be Ross county and Dundee that would go up to the SPL not Dunfermline keeping their place...not that that matters to us.
