Didn't see a thread but according to the Record..

KYLE LAFFERTY will today become the third senior Rangers player to refuse to sign up for Charles Green’s Ibrox newco.

It’s understood the Northern Ireland hitman will officially put in writing his intention to quit the crisis club and leave as a free agent this summer.

Lafferty’s decision comes just two days after his team-mates Steven Naismith and Steven Whittaker announced they would be the first high-profile players to rebel against Green’s plans.

On June 14 Record Sport first revealed that a number of Gers boss Ally McCoist’s top-team stars were ready to rise up against Green by refusing to transfer their contracts over from the old company.

Now the rebellion is really under way with Lafferty the latest to opt out of Green’s blueprint for the stricken club.

The 24-year-old is one of a string of stars who are infuriated at being left in the dark by Green as well as bungling administrators Duff and Phelps.

But he has also been at loggerheads with McCoist since the end of last term when he was banned for two weeks following a bust-up with the boss who accused him of lacking professionalism and shirking responsibilities.

And, if anything, the relationship has soured even further since then.

Lafferty and some others inside McCoist’s inner sanctum believe the manager should have done more over the summer to keep his players up to speed on the developments which have seen Rangers’

situation get even worse.

And this simmering resentment could lead to more players joining up with the rebels over the next 24 hours before McCoist’s pre-season training begins at Murray Park tomorrow morning.

Lafferty – who cost £4million when he moved from Burnley in 2008 – was one of seven players to cash in on secret sweeteners handed out when the squad took 75 per cent wage cuts to keep the club in business.

He is available for just £575,000 but now Lafferty wants to cut himself an even better deal and leave Green, McCoist and Rangers with nothing.

It has been widely reported that Sone Aluko and Rhys McCabe will also snub any attempts to make them move over to Green’s newco.

Which all means, even by conservative estimates, that Green’s business plans are in tatters with millions of pounds about to be wiped off the value of McCoist’s squad.

And should this revolt gather momentum it will be difficult for Rangers to function as a competitive force at all next season.

No great loss in my eyes, shite attitude with Coisty and a complete flop IMO. Yes he scored goals in the run in but remember the guy cost nearly £4m and was nowhere near prolific.

Forgot we still had him, ha. Pretty much dismissed him as a goner after his antics at the end of the season.

Sky reporting now Lafferty is objecting too.

Fucking scumbag prick. Hope your career goes down the tubes, despicable cunt.

I think he may have just made himself the most hated cunt in glasgow.

Yes - cost us £4m - which is why the big bastard owes us a transfer fee when he leaves.

Lafferty could agree to switch to the NewCo and, if he's not happy plying his trade in the lower reaches of Scotland (and prefers the lower reaches of England) then fine - that would form part of his new deal at NewCo Rangers - he gets a move and the club gets a chunk of its £4m back.

Fuxsake, even if we ended up with £1m and Lafferty got the balance we'd still end up with a sizeable amount compared to what he, Paysmith and Bombscare are doing, which is leaving us for zilch.

Lafferty has joined those who have already shat on us.

He will be forgotten by the Rangers support and his name spat out when we curse.

I recall his interview when he went on about the close relationship this bunch of Rangers player had and was one of the reasons we had been so sucessful...

Cringe worthy thinking back to that now, The Rangers support were the only ones who didn't call him a diddy (even though an element thought it).

£4 million chucked down the shitter with no return.
