Ally and Jig are the only two Rangers fans at the club, by the looks of things. They're not worrying about money, they're worrying about the future of the club that they love. THAT'S what we need during this, our darkest of days. If you are prepared to stand by us and fight when we're at our most vulnerable then you will be welcomed as heroes for the rest of your days.

There will be a statue of Ally at the Broomie end of the main stand one day. I don't know if it will be this year, 10 or 20 but it will happen.

The scum would desecrate it every time they darken our door.

Yep, Ally has stuck by our team when it would be easier to leave.

Did this generation fail to learn what loyalty is?

Unfortunately yes. We live in the era of a dumbed down litigious society.

A nation of fast buck chasers with not a thought about the heads trampled upon to achieve such aims.

I know I generalise and there are many good and noble souls out there doing their duty with a sense of righteousness.

I am delighted that I was brought up by two wonderful parents who installed great values within me,one of which is the value of the loyalty of which you speak.

I have passed this onto my son and hopefully he will do so to his offspring if and when they are born.

Loyalty has always been the Rangers way!

I'm a bit puzzled by this implicit comparison between the loyalties of manager and players. It seems unfair.

The players who leave have credible c.v.s and seek to preserve their careers by moving to clubs that will offer better standards of play than Rangers can. What would it do to an International to play in Division 3? Of course there will be players who are at the end of their careers who lose little by being loyal.

Ally is different. He hardly has a managerial cv that would enable him to move to another club and has nothing to lose by sticking with the club: his loyalty, which I do not question, has no cost.

I used to live in London and was on a street called "Upper ground" and walking towards me were three men.

Mr McCoist, Terry Venables and Andy Townsend. I can't remember the year, but it must have been the time of a major International tournament, because they were walking towards the LWT studios and I remember it being a very sunny day and wasn't in the regular fitba season.

They looked at me as I let out a shout. I think Terry was expecting me to address him, but all I could say was "SUPER ALLY". I know, corny. He just smiled and shouted back "How's it goin big man". I heard One of the others comment as they walked away. "They're everywhere".

My memories of Mr McCoist go right back to the Scottish cup tie in 1981, when I first seen him play. That was against us that day in a 3-3 draw.

Onto his arrival at Rangers and some of the pelters he got at first (I ashamadely was one of the grumblers, it's always easier to go with the masses). Then the years of his timskelping.

His cheeky smile when at Kilmarnock and we sang "who ate all the pies".

His return with SWS at our hour of need.

In all the years I have seen this man I have never felt more respect and gratitude.

Even although you could have almost been the first to walk away but changed your mind.

Maybe it's something to do with Green rather than the players after all.

I just hope certain fans haven't closed the doors on certain players with their letters of disgust and their words of hate.

Ally showed everyone can have a change of heart but why should the manager leave if the players can leave.

The clubs cheaper to buy now.

If McCoist walked now ( who could honestly blame him?) it would be meltdown, i'm clutching at straws here thinking theres a masterplan behind all the walkouts with Green left with no players and bailing out selling to a Rangers group, as i say straws.

I believe he could certainly do better than managing a Third Division team anyway. I believe Ally could have won the treble last year (under the same circumstances) and would still stay. You can just tell there's a different in passion and desire compared to these players who have walked away. For someone like Naismith, who we've given more to than we've given him, you'd have expected maybe a bit more loyalty in a different generation.
