Thermopylae
Just wondering what his track record is ... is he a reputable businessman or a bit of a fly by night? Surely if he has a good reputation he isn't going to go off the rails at his age just as he arrives at Ibrox?

jonbryce
Just wondering what his track record is ... is he a reputable businessman or a bit of a fly by night? Surely if he has a good reputation he isn't going to go off the rails at his age just as he arrives at Ibrox? He is not a con merchant like Craig Whyte. He also isn't a sugar daddy like Roman Abramovich or Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He previously owned Sheffield United, and was not popular with fans. If his track record here is anything like is track record there, don't expect any more additions to the trophy cabinet any time soon. His plan will be to make the club profitable, then either float it on the stock exchange or sell it to someone else at a huge profit in maybe about 5 years time. LucyBlue
In business? A man who's been involved in slightly more successes than failures. Like any half decent businessman he hid away the gains and wrote off the losses. In football?A man who saved a wreck of a club, built it back up to a decent extent, then sold a lot of its assets, made a lot of money then left.He left it slightly better off than when he took over. He's no devil but he's no saint either. Gash07
He has not applied for a membership to any leagueHas apparently had no banking facilities set up for the club. Has never met any of the players despite receiving numerous requests. Will not disclose backers or indeed who actually owns the club.

Some might argue that point, but I don't believe it would take the same capital to make us successful again that it would have to made Sheffield United successful. Guardian
We know he stepped up and bought the club like he said he would. That's more than anyone else did, despite claiming they would.

ritchieshearercaldow
We know he stepped up and bought the club like he said he would. That's more than anyone else did, despite claiming they would. But he also said he was confident about a CVAHe also said he had 20 backersHe also said the players couldn't walk awayAnd didn't he say we would sign new players, 4 of whom were playing in the Euro Finals?Buying the club for a song is the only thing he's achieved so far, and that seems like a lifetime ago
