SFA chief denies Gers agenda

Plans to restructure the Scottish leagues are not designed to restore Rangers to the top division, according to the SFA's president.

The Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League have been asked to work together under an independent chairman to agree a way forward for Scottish football.

And there are suggestions a three-division league could be introduced, which would leave the newco Rangers needing one less promotion to reach the SPL.

But Campbell Ogilvie said: "This is a much wider debate, it's not about any one club. It's about getting the structure right in the Scottish professional game.

"I keep hearing it from outside sources but there have been absolutely no discussions within Scottish football for that scenario.

"Any league reconstruction has got to be a much wider debate and it's about teams coming through various levels on merit.

"The whole debate on reconstruction started a year ago and got railroaded up to a point with all the meetings that took place on the Rangers situation from February."

I suspect if he mentioned that it was about us at all, he wouldn't be allowed to be involved in any discussions like the last six months, in the weird world of Scottish football, where you only have a conflict of interest if you might be supporting Rangers.

he's taken a back seat with the whole rangers issue to avoid any claims of a conflict of interest as he was company secretary at the time of EBT's

Campbell Ogilvie is a 100% Rangers man.

You are correct - he's been out of the loop due to his previous links with the club whilst this EBT investigation is ongoing.

It seems from the outside that regan and liewell have him by the balls. If Gordon Smith had stayed in his job, both Gordon and Campbell wouldn't have let this pish turn out the way it has.

Smith actually stated there was an anti rangers agenda.

For the life of me I cannot believe questions as to why oregan is still in a job have not been plastered all over the papers.
