***The official moral outrage over questioning Ally McCoist thread***

Not very constructive I know, then again I think many are unable to have constructive discussion on this matter (not you gm).

There's not much room for discussion.

Some want him gone if he doesn't win the next 3 games, others want him to have another season minimum. Perhaps the compromise is if we haven't won the league by Christmas he should go then

Really? I've seen posters questioning him as a manager and saying he needs to buck up his ideas, not demanding his sacking or setting specific dates.

People have doubts and opinions but they want to be proven wrong, it's up to Ally to prove them wrong. It's not like fans want him to fail.

Only one man can silence the critics, and that is McCoist.

A few results, and improved performances will go a long way to doing that. Ally is all to aware of the pressures on a Rangers manager, having been associated with the club either as player, manager or coach for 20 odd years. He knows that if performances do not pick up, fans & media will call his abilities into question.

It's over to you Ally to prove your doubters wrong. Achieve that, and you're going to be the biggest legend in the clubs history!

Exactly, I don't believe Ally himself will think he should be judged as a football manager on anything other than what happens on the park.

How long does he have to prove them wrong though? Next game against Falkirk? Next away game against Annan?

Personally, I'm prepared to give McCoist time in the job. It's unthinkable that we somehow don't manage to win this division.

My main issue when McCoist was given the managerial job was that he didn't have enough experience as an individual manager. While he was learning under one of the best in Smith, he is not Walter Smith. It would have been interesting to see his own ideas and philosophies develop at another club.

Personally, I prefer to see managers go out and learn first hand, rather than make their way up through the assistant route. I'd have liked Ally to have learned his trade at another club once Walter had departed (or even before). That is not to say that it isn't possible to work your way up via the assistant route and still be a success, nor is this me saying I was in anyway upset that McCoist was given the job. I was delighted for him and I have every faith in the man.

What division three (and onwards) gives McCoist is almost like a free couple of years to really mold the team and his ideas together. He will make mistakes along the way and he will need to learn from them, but in the lower leagues with the team we have, he should be able to do that.

I do not believe, though, that people should be shot down or abused for having valid questions about Ally's methods or some below par performances. Providing they are reasonable. I think people have to be able to air their opinions on here and I don't think it's too unreasonable to have looked at the Brechin, Peterhead and now Berwick games and at least have a few questions or doubts about the direction and playing style the team is heading in, at the moment.

Well we could do with one considering the number of threads of this theme that keep appearing.

And no the irony is not lost, i'm just finding it a bit boring now. You'd think people were arranging a pitch fork mob to chase him out the door.

The Duke of Kilbride must be given time to produce the goods.Agree that there is nothing wrong with constructive critism of tactics and even his hair style, but personal attacks will result in said posters being hunted down and eaten by the TIny KIlby.

Ya Bass.

I've yet to see any 'personal attacks'.

I have no doubt Green will be utterly ruthless if things carry on like this. You don't get where he is by being a nice guy.

It really is up to Ally. He needs to get things in order PDQ.

I think you are spot one there, CG will not sit on his hands if things do not improve on the park. CG has said some nice things about Ally but a hard-nosed businessman will not just watch poor performances and do nothing.

Before all you guys who will not tolerate any dissenting voices when it comes to the team's recent outings start, please know this, I really want Ally to get this sorted and take us forward.
