GovanFrontSince96 315
Is there any possibility of fans, not just Rangers, campaigning to the Scottish Government to get the draconian law of not being allowed to drink on a bus or train on the way to a game overturned? I still can't get my head around how ridiculous and unfair this law is. You can get hammered in the pub next door to the ground all day long but if you have a long journey on a supporters bus you can't drink?? The amount of police pulling buses on the way to Berwick was a disgrace and I heard of buses being stopped in fife and Ayrshire. The amount of Police time and resources wasted in stop and searches looking for drink is quite frankly a national scandal. I bet your average person in the street doesnt know this happens or there would be more made of it. I realise the police are only doing a job, but surely this law has to be scrapped. Has there ever been a campaign to get this overturned, would love to get this debate on tv and papers or hear what MPs thoughts on it are now.I can't think of one good reason to keep this farce of a law, total joke and unfair on decent fans who want a few relaxing beers to make a long journey go in a little quicker. Only in Scotland

MisterC 12,733
I think its a disgrace, I mean the bus I go on doesnt allow booze on it but those who do have a wee drink on way to a game should not be criminalized for this and neither should be supporters club. Way too many polis making sure they are being seen to be doing 'something'.

j1mgg 3,766
I don't think it is banned on the train unless stated by the police, ie Scotland games. It is a stupid law though banning drinking on buses, what is the rule for passengers in cars drinking on the way to games? rfcfraserrfc 262
There is a strong case for drinking being allowed back in the Scottish game as it would attract more fans, therefore pumping money back into the country's national sport. BEE 4,880
Given that they're going to make drinking on the trains illegal soon I doubt there's any chance of any change to the law.
TMB 14,167
Get alcohol free beer with twist caps and pour it all out. Replace the contents with actual alcoholic beer. Would that work? They taste the same I mean how is anyone going to know the difference. You even have a cement excuse for stinking like beer because you're drinking beer, but alcohol free.
