Oh I could not agree more. Perhaps we let them(the 3 man panel) make their findings and if it is the outcome we want great if not point this out.

Who is going to point anything out, charlie has his investors to think about.

It shouldn't get anywhere near the kangaroo mob sitting let alone making any decisions, simples get our retaliation in first. :sherlock:

Charles Green has the fans who invest their money and the investors to think about.Granted 35k plus season tickets have already committed their cash.It may be wishful thinking from me but perhaps we let our enemies show their hand first.

Where's the £1 million fine coming from? Thought the fine we had before was the maximum we could receive?

The independent comision, have been given free rein to impose "any" penalty they choose on Rangers, regarding the improper declaration of contractual payments.

The commission is headed by the same guy who previously imposed a penalty on Rangers, which was not allowed. So the SPL have removed all limitations on his authority, so that no matter how draconian the penalty, it is within their power to impose it.

Fair enough mate, I dunno why I didn't think of such a twist.

This could all get pretty messy soon, anyone know how long it's expected to take?

Been rumours on twitter all day by folk "in the know" saying that we will be stripped of 5 titles and fined £1m

Its most likely shite though, twitter is never right.

........ errrr...... the Big Tax Case is a Tribunal - in a court of law - only thing they can do is uphold the fine HMRC have already applied (and costs) or tellHMRC they are wrong and weget no penalties ... the twitter rumours are all about the SFA/SPL investigation into our USE of EBTs (mainly the use (or not) of dual contracts- Even then there is to be an 'independant' investigation into that (although many believe that is a stich up)

Apparently it needs explaining to you, on second thoughts just read the kangaroo mobs announcement.

PS when the FTTT finds for us there will have been no contractual payments , only loans.

One is looking at whether Rangers use of EBT's were legitimate or if it was simply a scheme to bypass taxes.

The other is looking simply at the question of whether payments were made to players and not declared under the league rules.

Separate issues about the same payments but neither relying on the decision of the other.

Believe it or not the taigs sent in a freedom of information request about the triail and verdict and the ftt confirmed it will be this month the verdict is returned.

Murray already know he's won, he's just letting the SPHELL corrupt ones make a c@nt of themselves :crabflute:

FFS this is getting to be hard work, when the FTTT finds for us their will have been no contractual payments to be punished for, they will have been loans, loans are what they are loans not a contractual payment they are discretionary as per EBT legislation, so you want us punished for something which never took place or happened.

What EBT legislation are you talking about? EBT's were a "loophole" not a measure introduced by legislation. Do the SPL rules demand declaration of contractual payments or all payments to players, it's hard to tell given both the SPL and SFA seem to destroy all trace of previous regulations when they bring out a new set.

Every post u put up regarding the EBTs confidently states we have won. How do u know this? Or are u just an extremely optimistic bear?

It's prob just a guess on the posters part, but he may well be right, the satement Murray issued a few weeks ago was pretty hard hitting against those who have said that we operated dual contracts, i would doubt very much that Murray would have issued this kind of statement, which in my opinion was very well written, if he hadn't taken some legal advice before doing so, that's just my take on it, but when i read it, it looked to me as though it was written by a man who already knew what is going to happen, he seemed very confident in that statement.

2 completely different issues. EBT tax case is a legal hearing brought by HMR&C which is not interested in league titles or the like. That case will purely decide if there is any outstanding tax liabilities, which of course lie with the old company. If they do find the company liable and it is not solvent then they will go for the directors of said company, mainly Murray and Whyte, this is what they said when they turned down the CVA. The fact it is taking so long makes you wonder if the outcome is not as negative as the "knowledgable bloggers" suggest.

The separate issue that the SPL is bringing is in respect of dual contracts. They are of course linked as the whole issue of dual contracts was brought about by the loan agreements set out as part of the EBT. If they are deemed to not be part of the player's emoluments by the EBT case then it follows there were no dual contracts in respect of paying players. This is why the SFA choose not to review the dual contracts back in April with the EBT case still outstanding and why CG has today questioned how the SPL can consider this (not withstanding the question of authority over us) while the EBT case is still unsettled.
