Westwood for example will generally hit a high percentage of fairways and GIR but is let down by a woeful short game, for a player at that level anyway. By minimising the dangers off the tee, the US have nullified any advantage the europeans may have, as of course they were well within their rights to do. In general, when it comes to the short game the US players are superior to Europe and as you rightly say, thats what it's going to come down to this weekend.Unless something special happens today and the Europeans raise their game significantly, at the moment I can't see past a landslide US victory.
