Every business and their grannies dog is paying as little tax as possible, especially these days with all the hikes.

For us, its like being accused of cheating because we field eleven players every week, as if its against the rules or something.

yes I no , but they haven't payed any tax in three years , think they said 1.2 billion turn over but hey they haven't made a profit

There are £billions lost to the Revenue through tax avoidance. If any of the two main parties wished to do anything about this they would enact suitable legislation to plug the loop-holes. They havn't and they wont. It's far far easier to blame the "dole scroungers/benefits cheats" as it gives the tabloids an easily identifiable group to target and they cannot answer back. It also gives the readers of said tabloids easy targets to fulminate against while the real scroungers "tax avoiders" get away with it.

Shyster did not pay tax, the PAYE contributions taken, or VAT, ,however Starbucks have paid all these to HMRC which makes it different. However, you are right;the big companies avoid paying what they should by avoidance schemes and delay payments to suppliers as long as they can (some even deduct a percentage np matter how long they take to pay)

Well frankly that is a disgrace. It could be argued that HMRC have hounded us to the brink over less than 10% of that sum, all because of a administration error?

If at the end of the tax year say there is £10,000 of profit left in a buisness(for speaking sake) then as long as that profit is put back into the buisness then it is my understanding that no tax is due.Is that what these companys are doing?

maybe mate ? Makes you laugh they are global , and haven't made a profit ? And they are one expensive coffee shop! Greedy fuckers !

Wonder if any clever Rangers fans who are accountants have researched the tax affairs of the SFA / SPL / football clubs and their chairman / senior execs in Scotland to see if there are any dodgy dealings or practices that are at the edge of legitimacy or if any have been convicted of tax evasion or related offences. Only interested in fact and truth of course and for public service / public integrity reasons!!

They have done nothing wrong, legally. CW on the other hand unlawfully withheld taxes due. Starbucks uk operation has posted losses every year it has operated in the uk. This is mainly due to clever accounting and ensures they don't have to pay Corperation Tax. As far as I am aware they have paid thei NI and PAYE contributions as is required of them. Nothing illegal at all as far as I am aware. Whether it is immoral is a totally separate issue.

Making a comparison between Starbucks and Rangers' situation is a non starter for me.
