"It hurts me too much to watch us play this bad"

One of my mates who follows Rangers everywhere came out with this statement after Wednesday, and told me he's not sure he could watch that everyweek as he's realising how far we've fell. Pumped off Inverness at Ibrox. Something I never thought I would say.

Now normally I'd be calling someone like this a glory hunter, or a part timer or all the names under the sun, but after that shocker on Wednesday it's hurting me too. We were pathetic and it was as if I wasn't watching Rangers our possession, passing, running, shooting etc was that bad. My mate claims he can't watch that every week and is considering giving it all up for now. It's depressing him how bad it is just now. As I said i'd be the first one to attack someone like that questioning their loyalty. But right now, who can blame him? It's hurting me just as much.

I'm just greatful I'm able to go and wach Rangers every week after what happened in the summer. Times have changed at Ibrox. A slow building process is underway both on and off the park.

You will always get those who will stay away and return when everythings rosey again. Such is life.

I don't blame anyone who is frustrated by how we are playing. Glory hunters don't walk away from Champions Elect though. We are going to win almost every other week and we are going to skoosh this league yet crowds will inevitably dwindle possibly because of how we are going about our business and the alleged lack of any long term vision or planning. One could argue a lot of glory hunters have actually latched onto this Division 3 thing because they know they will see us winning almost every week, they tend to be the ones who don't care how we play as long as we win.

We are going through a very bad spell. No doubt about it.

However, have you ever wondered how the few fans of these lower league teams turn up every week.

Id say its loyalty.

We are loyal and we're true. Ring a bell? We are supposed to be famous for it...!

Yes its bad, but stick with it..this is STILL The Rangers.

Hell we are still here when in all reality it looked in doubt at one point.

Yes we are all hurting after what happened midweek but we as ever dust ourselves down and move forward, tell your mate to read a quote from Bill

" I have been lucky — lucky in those who were around me from the boardroom to the dressing-room. In time of stress, their unstinted support, unbroken devotion to our club and calmness in adversity eased the task of making Rangers FC the premier club in this country.

To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him."

Our very success, gained you will agree by skill, will draw more people than ever to see it. And that will benefit many more clubs than Rangers. Let the others come after us. We welcome the chase. It is healthy for us. We will never hide from it. Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers."

We have gone through bad times before and we will again but we cannot start to chuck it because we are not playing great football.

I am guessing that your mate will be saving up for his season ticket in three years time to see us in whichever form of top league it is by then, and then doing someone who has stayed loyal out of a seat, I'd have these fair weather supporters listed and banned from buying tickets ahead of those who have followed followed

(tu) The more i see pish like Wednesday night the more i want to batter fuck out Craig Whyte. My last season ticket was water smiths last year in charge. But i've still be getting tickets every week. No matter how shite they get but i can't help but going back. I don't know how many times i've said along the years when we have been shite that i'm no going back, only to be their the next week.It can't get any worse, this is the team thats going to be playing until the transfer ban is lifted so their going to get better surely? The team has been together for 3 months, i was saying to my dad they should be fucking better than this now they have been playing with each other for 3 months now. But he was saying it takes a new team like this alot more than 3 months to gel.

when your mate reaches puberty I am sure he will develop into a good supporter who follows the team good or bad and has the maturity to understand this is a rebuilding process - until he grows up perhaps 'power rangers' on the telly would be better suited to his maturity level

Yawn.

There's countless other clubs who have had far worse on field experiences than us.

Take the good with the bad, I certainly won't be taking a step back.

How many clubs do you that have been put down to the lowest league because of tax problems? I know Portsmouth have been in admin twice but they are getting help from their FA and are not getting demoted down any leagues.

I think he means the standard of football mate. "On the field" he said. (tu)

As the highlighted bit says, I mean on the field.

If anything, this season is a reminder of what a great club we are.

Can folk not get the fact we are not a SPL squad of players? We are top of our league with some seasoned Pros and a bunch of youngsters that wouldn't get near the first team starting eleven if we hadn't been shafted. The result the other night didn't surprise me, the performance was much the same as we have had all season (Motherwell the exeption).

We should be getting more out of the senior players, yes, but from what i've seen i don't expect any major improvement I'm sorry to say.

The club needs the support more than ever over the next few seasons, it ain't going to be pretty but we will get back to the top.

Tell your mate to keep turning up when he can, the club needs the support.

I'd say its the opposite Fish. I'd say those who expected a magical turn around and for us to be playing these teams off the park are now wondering what they have got themselves into.

Winning is a Rangers tradition. It's what we have strived for, for 140 years. A team who wins will invariably play well. But some of you on here are pishing ya pants coz a 3 month old squad is having inconsistent performances. Grow a fucking pair and join us in supporting Rangers.

No not all are like this so don't get it mixed up.

I expect far better from my team and they have been well short of what I want from a Rangers team with superior players to almost ever single team they face, that does not mean I stay away but as a fan of this club for more years than I care to mention I will fucking complain when we are not at the races.
