What are your memories of us beating Leeds at Elland Road?

I went to a concert at the barras right after the game and the bouncer at the door was obviously a tim because he didn't react well to our obvious exuberance ... just made it EVEN better icon_lol.gif

Watched it at my mates house, think there were about 6 or 7 of us all goin' fuckin mental when

big Hateley scored that screamer after 2 mins and Ally's goal that night is one of the best you'll

ever see in a European game, total qaulity from start to finish.

We ended up in a nightclub(or did we still call them disco's back then?) and i can still see the dj's coupon

when i asked him to play "THE BEST",priceless, wasn't too chuffed and i guess the fact i was wearing

a Union Jack bowler didn't help his mood much either.

Can remember it as if it were yesterday and the icing on the cake....Ian Durrant scoring the only goal

at the piggery 3 days later.

Was thinking that myself where have the years gone .

I always remember a few weeks before it Wilkinson was writing us off in an English newspaper and the headline was Wilko Aims To Roast Rangers :mutley:

I was in the Healds Hall hotel, just outside of Leeds, as my firm had called a sales meeting at our Morley HQ. I was to collect my new company car the following day. After begging the wee Irish hotel manager to rig up a tv in the rear of the lounge I had to sit through a barrage of piss taking from my English colleagues who were convinced that Leeds would steamroller us. From the kick off it soon became obvious that our lads were well up for the game and the pish in the English rags had been posted on the Ibrox notice boards to add a bit of steel to the mindset. I must admit the game became a bit of a blur as the beers were arriving at an alarming rate, served by the barmaid as none of us could tear our eyes from the tv. Goal one and I was pogoing around the lounge like my balls were on fire and we kept up the onslaught until goal two and Leeds came at us with everything. The rest is history but I'll never forget the hotel manager's face as he told me it was the greatest performance he'd ever seen against Leeds and his two sons would be sobbing all the way home from the ground. I remember the mood at the office next morning was as if death had entered the building. Happiest day of that year for me by a mile :7326:

Sorry, someone had to do it

It was twenty years ago today,

After 5 minutes of the first game I was gutted, but when Ally scored that header...........

Was in the Hundred Club, a reasonably select part of the stadium.

Managed to contain myself when we scored, but a Leeds supporting client of mine, who was sat just behind, clapped politely because the 2nd goal was so good & got a thump for his trouble from one of his own!

Same here mate. I was in the old wooden stand with a mate from Brum. His trackie top zipper broke he told me it was cool as he 'only' had a linfield top underneath LOL. Felt it pretty intimidating and remember around me a few bears where outed and taken out by stewards after 3minswhen big Hately scored that screamer. Kept my calm and managed to see out the full 90 mins. Brother and mate where over in the corner , holding hands , for the full game. LOL.
