Murray International Holdings, former majority shareholders in the oldco Rangers

"We are satisfied that the Tax Tribunal has now published its widely awaited decision and note the contents thereof.

"We are pleased with the judgement, which leaves minimal tax liability and overwhelmingly supports the views collectively and consistently held by our advisers, legal counsel and MIH itself.

"This has been an exceptionally long, difficult and expensive process involving not just the Tax Tribunal but also significant efforts to resolve the matter with senior HMRC officials on a commercially sensible basis for all parties.

While MIH has at all times respected the privacy of the Tax Tribunal proceedings, a substantial quantity of confidential information relating to the case has become available for public consumption, stimulating considerable discussion and often ill-informed debate.

"This has been wholly inappropriate and outwith the fundamental principles of natural justice.

"We therefore formally request that the relevant authorities investigate how these sensitive details have been released so widely.

"We have instructed our lawyers to retrospectively review online and printed publications relating to the case to identify whether legal redress is either appropriate or necessary."

"We will therefore review the detailed content of the decision with our advisers and legal counsel to ascertain what action, if any, is now required by MIH."

Really strange, turned down by D&P as not creditors by legal counsel an fk all to do with us.

See earlier clarification, was within the context of merging the two companies, al'a Bill Millers plans.

I appreciate it is nothing to do with us, but if we tried to merge the two companies it would be something to do with us, which is the point I was making. The tribunal is nothing to do with us either.

Surely this means there's No chance of titles being stripped now.

Not necessarily.

There's a difference between the EBTs being illegal, and being outwith the rules of the SPL. It certainly can't hurt the chances of our titles remaining in tact, though.

Great news. Fucking great news. Actually fuck the lot of them. Now it's time for the correct people to be brought to justice. Their time is up.

A massive GIRFUY to every tim in the world. To every sheepshagger in the world. To every media outlet who slated us. To every journalist. To the SPL. The the SFA. To Peter Liewell. To Peter Liewell and co.

Fucking delighted!!!!!

I've said from the start I thought they were taking so long because they couldn't come to a decision, no real evidence against us and that we were not guilty.

For once in my life my gut instinct proved correct.

Well, what are the implications?

The big tax case is the main reason the old company went of business. It's the main reason we struggled to find a buyer, it is the main reason Lloyds forced the sale and played hard with us to guarantee them getting their money back. It is the reason Whyte didn't bother with paying tax, knowing that if we lost it we'd of been out of business. It is the main reason for a hell of a lot of things.

,

If we win the tax case, then a lot of people have a lot of explaining to do, because we're now a newco, in the third division, and had our reputation dragged through the mud, over an issue we we are completely innocent on!

Indeed, if true, the old company has went out of business for no good reason!

Great post. Truth.

HMRC on Rangers tax case

"We are disappointed that we have lost this stage of the court process and we are considering an appeal.

"The decision was not unanimous and the diligence of HMRC investigators was acknowledged by the whole tribunal.

"HMRC is committed to tackling avoidance and it is right that we challenge the type of avoidance seen in this case."

Sour grapes from HMRC ,they would have to have grounds for an appeal. They can't just appeal until they get the result they want
