RANGERS have broken the quarter of a million barrier for Division Three crowds — up an astonishing 10,000 on last season’s attendances at this stage in the SPL.

Gers set a new record for highest crowd in a fourth tier game when 49,913 watched Saturday’s win over Stirling Albion.

The total attendance for their six home league game so far is 287,997, while SPL champions Celtic’s combined total after seven home league games is 273,745.

Meanwhile, Gers fans can directly buy shares in the club from Saturday onwards for one week only.

This is almost 2k more than watched the Manchester derby. I couldn't believe it when the announcer stated that the attendance was 47k plus a few hundred.

And Van Persie said it was the biggest derby in the world? Gie's peace!

that's also a sell out. They can't do much more than sell out to be fair.

There's a slight flaw.

For Celtic's game against St. Johnstone they (Celtic) refused to give ANY crowd figure to the press. For a few weeks this figure was missing. A lot of sources gave up and had the figure as zero. Even the official Scottish Premier League site. This figure has now been recorded as 43,804 - which will be disputed. This means for seven games their total attendance is 317,549 (an average of 45,364, down 5,540 on last season's average of 50,904). Rangers have an average of 48,000 for the six games played (up 1,676 on last season's average of 46,324).

Do you mean the Etihad Stadium mate - as their capacity is 60,000.

Only for concerts mate.

Football wise the capacity is set as 47,805 for domestic football and45,500 for any UEFA sanctioned game.

EDIT* I've just noticed that stadium is only an UEFA category 4 stadium. That's a shock.
